ITS Vice Presidency Context:

Information and Technology Solutions (ITS) enables the WBG to achieve its mission of ending extreme poverty and promote shared prosperity in a sustainable way by delivering transformative information and technologies to its staff working in over 150 locations.

Our vision is to transform how the Bank Group accomplishes its mission through information and technology. In this fast-paced, ever-changing world, the formulation and implementation of the ITS strategy is an ongoing, iterative process of learning and adaptation developed through extensive consultations with business partners throughout the World Bank Group.

ITS shapes its strategy in response to changing business priorities and leverages new technologies to achieve three high-level business outcomes: business enablement, by providing Bank Group units with innovative digital tools and technologies to transform how they deliver value for their clients; empowerment & effectiveness, by ensuring that all Bank Group staff are connected, able to find information, and productive to accelerate the delivery of development solutions globally; and resilience, by equipping the Bank Group to provide risk-based cybersecurity and robust data protection for a global network and a growing cloud platform.

Implementation of the strategy is guided by three core principles. The first is to deliver solutions for business partners that are customer-centric, innovative, and transformative. The second is to provide the Bank Group with value for money with selective and standard technologies. The third principle is to excel at the basics by providing a high performing, robust, and resilient IT environment for the organization.

The ITSGC department is part of ITS and provides global communications capabilities, client services and products, and support for all member organizations across the World Bank Group. The services for which ITSGC is responsible are delivered by 5 different units: ITSNI (Global Network Management), ITSCU (Unified Communications, Telephony, and Videoconferencing), ITSEW (End-User and Workplace Computing), ITSCS (Helpdesk, front-line IT support, and IT training), and ITSRD (Rapid Application Development). Also, ITSGC is responsible for coordinating and implementing all infrastructure projects facing WBG country offices.

In particular, the ITSEW (End-User and Workplace Computing) division within ITSGC currently consists of 5 business units which provide technology solutions for numerous services and functions.  They are:

•ITSMP (Mobility and Productivity Solutions) responsible for the IT Mobility and Services Centers as well as strategy, engineering, and support of iOS, Android, ChromeOS, and EMM platforms.

•ITSWP (Workplace Technology Solutions) responsible for provisioning and management of the global PC fleet and HQ and global print solutions.

•ITSEE (End-User Solutions and Engineering) responsible for the strategy and engineering of the Windows end-user platform and associated products.

•ITSCV (Virtual Desktop Technologies) responsible for strategy, engineering, and management of the Remote Access platforms for both managed and unmanaged devices.

•ITSGP (Global Managed Print Services & Solutions) is responsible for the strategy, operations, implementation and engineering of the Global Managed Print Service and associated products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

The Systems Analyst will report to the ITSEE Team Lead and is expected to play a significant role in the planning, deployment, and operations of Windows client platform including software distribution, patch management and operating system deployments using SCCM (ConfigMgr) and InTune.

Responsibilities and skills include, but are not limited to the following:

•Maintaining 24/7 operation on all SCCM servers and InTune cloud.

•Troubleshooting of problems in close coordination with HQ staff. This includes opening, following-up on opened problems, closing, and escalation to HQ staff in adherence to Problem Management framework.

•Configuring, maintaining and supporting management software for enterprise desktops and laptops.

•Automation of end-point management using Splunk and PowerShell or any scripting language.

•Securing/managing Windows client platform as part of vulnerability management. Mitigating the risks associated with ransomware.

•Provide the services of client remediation to ensure all computing devices connected to WBG network are equipped with patching engines and anti-virus defense applications with the latest updates.

 

Selection Criteria

 

•Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science or related field with 2 years relevant experience or Relevant industry experience OR equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills/Abilities:

•Minimum 5 years of related experience related to desktop productivity suite engineering and proven experience with installation, configuration, operational support, and in-depth troubleshooting of following products:

•System center configuration Manager (SCCM)

•InTune cloud EMM

•Strong communication skills in English (written and oral).

•Strong interpersonal skills, positive attitude, and flexibility to work effectively in a team-oriented and multi-cultural environment.

•Ability to adequately plan and prioritize own work and teamwork while resolving competing demands.

•Ability to effectively apply creative and practical problem-solving skills on a regular basis.

•Certification in ITIL V3 Foundation in Service Management is a plus.

•Experience with developing, implementing, and leading adoption of ITIL and PMI best practices in project, service and infrastructure management is desirable.

Experience in:

•Proven experience as a seasoned Systems Engineer of Windows 10/11 client/server platforms to fulfill end-to-end operations and work program.

•Strong familiarity with systems administration disciplines like capacity planning, performance analysis, troubleshooting, trend analysis, etc. in enterprise environments.

•Design and specification of changes for implementation

•Implementation of procedures-based solutions to support and monitor the effective operations of an element(s) of the infrastructure.

•Experience with Microsoft Azure cloud platforms integration with endpoint management tools is a plus.

•Good understanding of MS SQL server installation and database query language to conduct SQL reports for operational needs.

•Experience with systems management integrations with Azure like Co-Management, CMG, and InTune.

•Experience with scripting and programming technologies is a must.

•Broad understanding of operating systems, their basic construct, and main characteristics. In-depth Windows experience is a must. A broad understanding of network models and protocols is also a plus.

•Good understanding of InTune remediation scripts, Microsoft Active Directory administration, as pertains to support of group policies and login scripts.

•Flexibility to work in close co-ordination with on-site and offshore teams, as well as support end-users across the globe.

•Willing to work in R&D activities and provide technical leadership on projects.

Other Selection Criteria:

•Communication skills: ability to convey ideas through clear oral communication and concise reports.

•Experience with process analysis, ability to identify ways to improve the productivity and efficiency of the specialist’s own and team’s work.

•Ability to create concise documentation for both technical and non-technical audiences.

•Strong writing and interpersonal skills and ability to work under tight schedules and deadlines.
