THE OPPORTUNITY

 

Plan International Pilipinas Foundation Inc. will implement a project entitled: Strengthening Structures for anticipatory humanitarian action for gender-responsive and inclusive disaster management in the Philippines.

 

The project aims to establish and empower the participation of youth and children in all diversity, their families, and communities to anticipate the potential negative impacts of disaster in the development of forecast-based early action. It will involve the local government units and their existing mechanisms to identify risks, strengthened their early warning system, and established flexible financing to enable anticipatory action for tropical storms and flooding, with a particular focus on gender equality, inclusion, protection, and sexual and reproductive health and rights.

 

In line with this project, we invite competent, experienced, and committed professionals to fill the following position.

 

The Logistics and Procurement Officer will provide provides administrative support in canvassing, purchasing, messenger, and logistic support services to the project area.

 

Further, as the Logistics and Procurement Officer:

 

  • You will canvass items in the approved requisition sheet and prepare a Summary of Canvass for analysis.
  • You will facilitate approved requests for flight, accommodation, and function booking.
  • You will receive purchased items and inspects if specifications are met.
  • You will assist in the physical inventory of fixed assets.
  • You will perform other daily logistics and admin tasks.
  • Plan International is a development and humanitarian organization. In exceptional cases, you will be asked to support emergency response activities in the communities in your assigned covered areas.

 

 

DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?

 

To be successful in the role you will need among other things:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, or any other related courses.
  • With training and/or experience in the areas of records management, asset management, and transportation services.
  • Has good communication and negotiation skills.
  • Has relevant training and/or experience in the use of computer systems and applications and procurement processes
  • Keen to details and organizing skills, flexible, and strong work ethic.
  • Knowledgeable in driving a four-wheel vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license preferred.
  • Previous work experience in similar projects and or organizations is an advantage.
  • Applicants must be based in the Philippines and Filipino nationals.

Location: Cotabato City, Maguindanao Province

Type of Role: Project-based (30 months)

Reports to: Project Manager

This role may require fieldwork.
