WFP is seeking an International Consultant based in Mogadishu to serve as Resilience Coordinator. The candidate will be responsible for the coordination of a multiyear joint resilience programme called Strengthening Resilience Programming in Jubaland and Banadir, Somalia supported with funding from BMZ through KfW, and implemented in coordination with the Government of Somalia. The Joint Resilience Programme (JRP) is an integrated nutrition, health, education, livelihoods, and water, sanitation and hygiene programme funded from 2018 through 2023 with an expected extension of six months into 2024.
In addition, the candidate will lead WFP Somalia’s engagement on the broader cross-functional resilience agenda, including strategic development and positioning, partnerships, advocacy and learning related to WFP resilience programming. This includes leading the technical design, development and implementation of new joint recovery and resilience programming with other partner agencies, and related advocacy with resource partners such as KfW/BMZ and USAID/BHA in close collaboration with technical units and the partnerships team.
Education: | Advanced university degree in Political Science, International Development, Development Economics, International Relations, or other related field. |
Experience: | Minimum of 5 years post-graduate experience, progressively responsible for programme coordination and management as well as experience working with donors. |
Language: | Fluency (level C) in the English language. Intermediate knowledge (level B) of a second official UN language is an added advantage.
