JOB DETAIL

This position will be hybrid requiring a few days per week in office. You can be based in our office in any of our WRI Country offices where you have existing work authorization. This is required at the time of application submission as WRI is unable to sponsor any visa work sponsorship for this position.

 

About the Program:

 

As part of the global WRI Operations team, you will contribute to the overall efficient operation of the department and help WRI to be fully compliant and knowledgeable about our financial condition.

 

Job Highlight:

 

Reporting to theRevenue Accounting Manager, you will manage the Accounts Receivable cycle and assist in revenue booking of WRI-Global office. You will be supported by a team of 17 accountants.

 

What will you do:

 

Manage invoicingandbilling(25%):

 

  • Prepare invoices in standard template and sends to program staff
  • Maintain accounts receivable records to ensure aging is up to date, uncollectible amounts are accounted for, and miscellaneous differences are cleared
  • Coordinate with program staff to resolve overdue receivables
  • Perform analysis of accounts receivable as requested by management team

 

Manage incoming cash(45%):

 

  • Identify incoming payments and books cash receipts in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Maintain hedge contract records in accounting system

 

Assist in revenue month-end closing (15%)

 

  • Process revenue related journal entries and review project-level financial status reports
  • Process foreign currency adjustments for grants/contracts

 

ReconciliationsandAudits(15%):

 

  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts (receivable accounts, main checking account, allowance for doubtful accounts, etc.)
  • Responsible for all A/R and cash inquiries from annual and project audits

What will you need:

 

  • Education: You have completed a bachelor’s degree in finance, accounts, economics, business administration, international affairs, or other discipline relevant for sustainable finance
  • Experience: You have a minimum of 3 years of relevant work experience
  • You are well-versed in accounting principles
  • You can work comfortably with numbers and have an impeccable attention to detail
  • You have experience working with large spreadsheet data using high-level excel formulas
  • You have experience reconciling balance sheet accounts
  • Languages: Fluent in English, with additional languages a plus
  • Requirements: Existing work authorization is required where this position. WRI is unable to authorize visa work authorization
