Position: Accounting Assistant (1 position available)

LocationYou will be working on a “hybrid” basis.  You will be working remotely mostly from home, but will be required to work at our Toronto office with reasonable notice.

HoursFull time, 35 hours per week, 7 hours per day, generally carried out Monday-Friday 9-5 with occasional work to be conducted early mornings, evenings and/or weekends.

Hourly Rate: $15.50 per hour

Duration: 8 weeks/35 hours per week (June 26 to August 21, 2023)

Duties and responsibilities:

  • Support finance team in account reconciliations.
  • Support Finance team in data cleanup and migration preparations.
  • Support Finance team to perform data analysis on transactions to allow for clean data mapping activities.
  • Support Finance team to verify the accuracy of data and follow up to obtain missing or incomplete information.
  • Support Finance team in performing data entry in Excel and ensure error-free entries.
  • Support Finance team in other related tasks, as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Home based internet connection required.
  • Will be required to work at our Toronto office, time to time, with reasonable notice.
  • As this internship will be funded by the Canada Summer Jobs program, eligible candidates must:
    • Between 15 and 30 years of age at the beginning of the employment period.
    • Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of the employment.
    • Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations.
  • Completion of high school is required.
  • Post-secondary education in the field of Accounting is a strong asset.
  • Strong math and analytical skills.
  • Ability to communicate in English.
  • Good interpersonal and communications skills, thrives in a multicultural environment.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite of tools; Powerpoint, Sharepoint, Teams and Excel.
  • Power BI expertise and experience is a bonus.
