Position Description:
The Accounts Officer will report to the Senior Administrative Officer and will be responsible for coordinating and organizing all financial requirements of the project with the objective of providing efficient financial support to the project within the guidelines and administrative procedure of the organization and icddr,b values and principle. The specific areas of responsibilities are detailed below:
- Work with PIs on budget development, support PIs in meeting budgets and agreement clauses/guidelines; coordinate with CMS for internal approvals
- Coordinate all financial functions (e.g. tracking budgets and expenditures, preparing and processing invoices, releasing funds, creating financial reports) between donors, partner organizations and icddr,b with regards to project grants;
- Review the budgets and expenditures for the projects and update PIs; Revise cash flow forecast;
- Work with PI/FPI’s/budget manager for proper management of the annual budget and costing.
- Prepare cost analysis for the PIs for key decision-making;
- Provide timely information to PIs for project cost management reports; ensure good practice for cost-effective programme implementation.
- Validate draft and finalize financial report;
- Communication with the divisional finance manager for timely submission of Financial Reports and invoices.
- Should have orientation on the GoB rules, policies and standards.
- Maintain cash book (receipt and payments accounts) in order to ensure transparency and accountability.
- Preparation of cash forecast to ensure timely payment of the vendor.
- Preparation of cash flow budget.
- Keep on track of all contract extensions/renewals, vehicle registration/renewals etc.
- Timely completion of the statutory audit by liaising with the auditor.
- Coordinate with team to submit tax & VAT returns without any fail.
- Ensure that internal & external compliance e.g. approval process, PO terms & conditions, documentation process, Tax & VAT compliance, have been followed with regard to vendor payment.
- Prepare monthly/six-monthly/Annual financial reports (as required).
- Any other works assigned by supervisor/PI as required.
Required qualifications and experience:
- Masters in Commerce or MBA (Major in Finance/Accounting) with good academic records;
- 3 years of experience in the finance/account’s domain in a reputed organization.
Location: Azimpur, Dhaka.
Contract Type and duration:
- Short-Term Contractual Service Agreement; duration will be 4 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of funds and performance.
Salary & benefits:
- Tk 57,048/- per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
- Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b and subsidized canteen, Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
