Job Purpose

The purpose of the role is to deliver excellent service to the International Secretariat (Amnesty’s head office) and the wider movement by ensuring payments to suppliers, staff expense claims, and other beneficiaries are made in line with service level Agreements.

The succesful candidate will maintain the purchase and income ledgers so that financial information is up to date and will monitor implementations of relevant finance policies through the effective use of the purchase order system in Microsoft Dynamics 365 (D365).

About you

We are looking for a candidate who has experience working in an Accounts Payable section for a large organization and has strong financial accounting experience.

The successful candidate will have previous experience reviewing staff expense claims and receipts on the concur expense management system, in line with Expense policy.

Main Responsibilities

  • Set up new suppliers on D365 ensuring compliance with the procurement policy Ledger entry in the accounting systems.
  • Processing of invoices on D365 (Purchase Requisition and Order system), ensuring compliance with relevant policies.
  • Account for all cash and foreign exchange transactions: including interest earned, bank charges and transaction fees and movement of funds between currencies, and between current and deposit accounts.
  • Provide assistance for overseas offices with the use of International Secretariat systems (D365, Concur), supporting the wider Accounts Payable team as they decentralise system processes through training sessions and creating user friendly guidance and templates where necessary.
  • Work closely with overseas finance colleagues to ensure intercompany transactions are properly recorded and reconciled monthly.

Skills and Experience

  • Part qualified accountant or studying an accountancy qualification.
  • Experience in a large international dynamic organization with multiple foreign currency payments.
  • Dealing with non-financial staff, i.e. relationship building, explaining financial information clearly and concisely.
  • Project management focus.
  • Systems experience: Intermediate Excel and MS Dynamics 365.
