Your team
Within the Network Management Directorate, the “Airports” Unit develops, validates and deploys airport safety, runway throughput, surface management and total airport management solutions.
Your role
Your role will be to:
Lead and/or contribute with operational expertise to strategic projects and activities in the area of the airport connectivity and technical and operational integration with the Network (Airport, CTR, TMA).
Support the Single European Sky R&I projects and activities in the airport domain, with particular focus on services targeting increased airport cost effectiveness, punctuality, and performance.
Identify and lead the support needed to local airports with the aim to improve network punctuality and performance.
Keep an overall operational overview on on-going projects and activities, and identify potential operational synergies or inconsistencies and address them to the relevant parties (i.e. internal teams, stakeholders, etc).
Contribute to the Network Manager digitalisation programme and its objectives with operational expertise.
Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders and related associations (i.e.. ACI EUROPE, IATA, CANSO, etc.).
Carry out any other task in line with the main purpose of the job.
University studies of at least 4 years in a relevant domain or university studies of at least 3 years plus 1 year relevant professional experience, or professional training of an equivalent level (e.g. ATCO).

Minimum 5 years of relevant working experience in the airport environment (Airport, ANSP, Ground Handling).
Experience in ATM services, ATC infrastructure or Airport Operations.
Experience with digital innovation ideally in the airport domain (i.e. passengers forecast, auto detection systems on airports’ departures/ arrivals, etc) would be a definite asset.

The working languages of the Agency are English and French. For this particular job, candidates must be proficient users of English at level C1. The selected candidate will be required to become basic users of French at level A1 before the end of the probation period.
The levels relate to the European-framework-reference Common European Framework of References for languages (CEFR).

Duration of appointment: This is an appointment for a determined period of 5 Year(s). It could be extended up to a maximum of 9 years or converted into an undetermined contract.
Internal candidates
If selected, the person will keep their current type of appointment duration (undetermined or determined).
The internal staff member with a determined contract will be offered, in principle, an appointment for 5 Year(s) with a maximum total duration of 9 years.
The successful candidate shall be appointed at the grade set out in this vacancy notice, or if a group of grades has been published for a job level, in principle at the basic grade of the published job level.
In case of reserve list: Suitable candidates, however not selected to fill the post, will be placed on a reserve list for similar functions. The period of validity of reserve list is 1 year from the closing date of applications .
