Purpose of Job

The Analyst supports the team on conducting regular data audits/compliance checks of reports received from partner financial institutions (PFIs) under signed project agreements. The Analyst will also be assigned to support the team on operationalising the IT monitoring tool under one of the team’s main products offered to clients. From time to time the Analyst will also undertake tasks supporting the team in financial analysis and monitoring of existing debt projects with PFIs.

The Analyst will take responsibility for the tasks assigned to him/her by the operation leader or more senior members of the project/new product development team, or more senior bankers, which may include undertaking data review, compliance checks, as well as effective post-signing implementation and monitoring.

The Analyst carries out these tasks as part of a project team under the guidance of the operation leader or under the supervision/guidance of more experienced bankers in the team.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities

Under the guidance of the operation leader or a more senior members of the team, the Analyst is expected to support:

  1. Data Auditing/Validation Tests
  • As assigned by the supervisor, work as a team member to review regular Excel-based reports received from PFIs under signed projects with EBRD and conducting data audit and compliance checks (logical and validation tests) against established rules/criteria.
  1. Support the development of IT Monitoring Tool
  • As assigned by the supervisor, work as a team member to undertake assigned tasks and support work relating to operationalising the IT monitoring tool under one of the team’s main products offered to clients.
  1. Portfolio Monitoring and Reporting
  • As requested by the operation leader or a Portfolio Manager, undertake assigned tasks relating to the implementation and monitoring of projects to which the Analyst is assigned as part of the project team, including compliance with project agreements and Bank procedures related to monitoring of progress of the project and financial performance of the client, assessing evolving risk factors and monitoring and assessing covenant compliance;
  • As requested by the operation leader or more senior member of the project team, prepare timely and comprehensive draft monitoring reports.

Qualifications, Skills, Experience & Knowledge

  • Bachelor level degree in Finance/Accounting related field.
  • Quantitative/numerical skills are critical with the ability to interpret financial information and conduct data audit/validation tests.
  • Credit analysis skills, with the ability to interpret accounts, understanding local and international accounting principles and practice of credit analysis of banks and/or other financial sector participant in particular would be an advantage.
  • Professional qualification such as ACA, CFA, ACCA, or CIMA or working towards one of those would be an advantage.
  • Strong command in Excel is important;
  • Computer literacy, conversant with Microsoft Office and spread sheet packages including financial analysis.
  • Aptitude to learn quickly relevant institutional systems and processes.
  • Ability to work effectively as a team member and to deadlines and under time pressure.
  • Good written and oral communication skills in English; Good command in Ukrainian language is a strong advantage.
  • Relevant data analysis/financial industry experience from previous assignments especially at an auditing/financial consulting firm operating to international standards would be an advantage.
