Purpose of Job:
Under the supervision of the Principal Manager/Regional Principal Manager the Analyst is responsible for design, organisation and delivery market development, visibility, and public relations activities as part of ASB programme activities; drafting and developing communication/visibility materials(published, online and through social media), supporting visibility efforts of the country teams to promote both the programme specifically and the value of external business advice more widely. The Analyst is also a key liaison with the EBRD Communications department as well as with communications counterparties in donor organisations and local media stakeholders with regards to visibility and seizing opportunities to raise awareness of the role of donors in ASB activities.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
• Proactively design, implement and evaluate market/sector development activities, as well as awareness raising and visibilities activities, acting as the focal point for coordinating these activities.
• Assist Principal Manager/Regional Principal Manager in implementation of a public relations (PR) strategy for the country, ensuring that all activities are in line with EBRD communications policies and donor priorities and visibility requirements for the programme.
• Promote effective internal communication of the country team with HQ and EBRD Communication Department to ensure marketing, communications and visibility of the ASB activities in the country are consistent and aligned with EBRD’s broader marketing, communications and visibility efforts globally.
• Act as a focal point and reference for EBRD country team on communication matters. Develop and manage relationships with local press and media with a view to ensuring regular opportunities for coverage of the programme throughout the year, including preparing press releases, press kits, coordinating press conferences and pursuing opportunities for targeted and regular representation in national and regional press.
• Identify, research and draft information/communication materials including case studies, success stories, newsletters, and articles about successful projects and initiatives to disseminate best practices and amplify the demonstration effect of ASB activities in the country.
• Contribute to the development of internal and donor reports in partnership with the ASB HQ team to inform donors on the progress of activities and utilisation of funding.
• Monitor local media for coverage of the programme and key issues related to the EBRD activities in the country.
• Manage the communication about ASB activities through the web, LinkedIn and other relevant external international development platforms, identifying appropriate content and maintaining regular content and response. Liaise with the EBRD web team on content for EBRD social media platforms and ebrd.com.
• Identify, liaise, and manage relations with external design/marketing agencies as required by country PR strategy and in line with EBRD communications policy.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:
Education/Professional Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree (Business administration, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, other related field etc.) and/or equivalent communications/public relations experience
Experience
• Relevant professional experience, preferably from a professional news, public relations or marketing field
• Relevant experience gained within the context of an international financial institution or donor organisation, consultancy or international support programme.
• Knowledge of local business environment and consultancy market.
• Knowledge of donor organisations and national stakeholders such as regional development agencies, chambers of commerce & industry and other SME support organisations desirable.
• Knowledge of local business environment and consultancy market desirable.
Skills
• Very strong communication skills with the ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information in written and verbal formats, to the right audience at the right time.
• Strong writing skills; experience in writing for the public, donors, stakeholders, and online platforms (web, social media, publications).
• Effective communication, presentation and collaboration skills and ability to develop and manage relations with press, clients, consultants, donors and stakeholders.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail to process high volume of information and data with the ability to draw insights and measure impact of ASB activities, understanding of enterprise financials desirable.
• Strong event management and organisational skills.
• Good knowledge of marketing and social media.
• Fluency in English and Ukrainian, both written and verbal.
• Computer literate: excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point; knowledge of design programmes such as InDesign and Corel Draw desirable, ability to learn new systems quickly.
