Purpose of Job:

The Analyst is responsible for supporting market development, communications and visibility activities about the work of the EBRD’s SME Finance and Development Group and about donors that support them, covering all regions. The Analyst is also a key liaison with EBRD Communications Department, local banking teams, EBRD consultants, media stakeholders, as well as communications counterparties in donor organisations, with regards to visibility and seizing opportunities to raise awareness of the role of donors in the Bank’s SME programmes.

Accountabilities & Responsibilities:

• Proactively design, implement and evaluate awareness raising and visibilities activities as well as visual assets for SME F&D brand, acting as the focal point for coordinating these activities.

• Collaborate with the Principal Manager, Communications to develop and implement communications plans for the projects or programmes, ensuring the positive impact and results of the EBRD and donor activities is emphasised and that those visibility activities are in line with EBRD communications policies and donor priorities and requirements.

• Propose and implement social media campaigns to promote donor-funded SME programmes

• Contribute to effective internal communications efforts, within the SME F&D Group and across the Bank

• Prepare newsletters, donor updates, press releases (where relevant) and other information materials as necessary for external distribution to stakeholders and partners so they are informed about SME F&D activities

• Monitor and report on online media for coverage of the programme and key issues relating to the SME in specific regions or countries, and consultancy sectors in the EBRD countries.

• Ensure up to date information on the SME F&D website pages and social media platforms and regularly supply content for centrally managed communications activities.

• Act as focal point for the localisation of materials developed centrally (in HQ) into local language and for adapting them to the local context; help ensure marketing, communications and visibility of SME activities in a country are aligned with EBRD’s broader marketing, communications and visibility efforts in the same country (RO based role).

• Contribute to the development of internal and donor reports to inform donors on the progress of activities and utilisation of funding.

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications:

Education/Professional Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Communications, Journalism, other related field etc.) and/or equivalent communications/digital marketing experience

Experience

• Relevant academic and professional experience, preferably from a professional news, digital communications, graphic design, public relations or marketing field.

• Knowledge of event management.

• Knowledge of producing high-end editorial and multimedia content (including, photography and videos) and online marketing campaigns

• Knowledge of donor funded work, donor organisations and national stakeholders such as regional development agencies, chambers of commerce & industry and other SME support organisations desirable (RO based).

• Knowledge of local business environment and consultancy market (RO based).

• Reporting on communications outreach

Skills

• Strong writing skills; experience in writing impactful content for the public and donors, and of altering tone for audience and platform (web, social media, publications).

• Effective communication, presentation and collaboration skills and ability to manage relations with press, clients, consultants, donors and stakeholders as well as the ability to communicate appropriate, concise and accurate information in written and verbal formats, to the right audience at the right time

• Strong numerical and analytical skills, understanding of enterprise financials desirable.

• Strong event management and organisational skills.

• Fluency in English, both written and verbal. Fluency in language of country of operations (e.g. French, Arabic).

• Computer literate: excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Excel and Power Point; knowledge of design programmes such as Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Premier Pro) an advantage

General

• Demonstrate a knowledge and understanding of the EBRD mandate, passionate about private sector development.

• Understanding and knowledge of corporate communications and graphic design

• Effective, persuasive and diplomatic communication skills. Ability to work in multi-cultural environment.

• Ability and flexibility to maximise the use of various communications approaches, tools and platforms (e.g. the web, social media, digital and print publications, presentations)

• Multi-tasking, self-initiative, creativity.

• Ability to meet deadlines.

• Ability and willingness to travel
