Purpose of Job
The Analyst / Associate Banker works closely with the Acting Associate Director, Head of EFV and team within the Equity Group working on delivering new technology solutions to processes, valuations and analytics in the Group.
The focus of the role will be the development of new valuation models based on the eFront platform and to provide advanced analytics in Tableau.
The Associate Banker performs those tasks assigned to him/her by Head of the Unit, working independently and as part of a team. The Associate Banker may also oversee and/or co-ordinate the work of more junior team members and interact with internal and external counterparts as required.
The work will be done through a cross functional project with stakeholders from various Equity teams, IT, Risk and Transformation. The project work will follow Agile project management methods and the candidate will need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced and dynamic atmosphere.
The Analyst / Associate will apply very high standards for quality delivery and will be involved in extensive testing of their work and the work of others.
Part of the role requirements will be to design and shape a new product with very visible value to the Group and beyond. The Analyst / Associate will be expected to contribute in discovery and brainstorming sessions in order to deliver the best possible product in a flat and fast-paced environment.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities
Work as part of a project team to:
• Develop valuation models for equity funds, fair value of debt and listed equity investments
• Work closely with the project team to integrate the developed models into eFront
• Contribute to verification of the equity funds module data and calculation accuracy
• Assist with development of reports in Tableau
• Advance and maintain key working relationships with User Groups (e.g., Banking Equity, Equity Risk, EPMU, DAS, Operations, FAU, IT, Credit, Treasury and Banking teams) and represent the team at interdepartmental meetings as required.
• Ensure that all tasks are completed within the specified project time frames to a high standard and in line with the policies, procedures and objectives of the Bank, including recommendations for corrective actions where required
• As a team member perform all such tasks as may be assigned by the Head of Unit, working independently or as part of a wider team
Qualifications & Skills / Experience & Knowledge
• Very strong analytical, valuation and reporting skills are essential, including knowledge of valuation models and the ability to quickly learn the eFront system and Tableau reporting suite.
• Proven skills of analytical thinking and problem solving.
• Previous experience with equity funds and/or fair value of debt is preferred.
• Knowledge of eFront PM module desirable.
• Experience with Tableau and / or Alteryx desirable.
• University degree in Economics, Finance, Business or related subjects and / or equivalent experience.
• Professional qualification such as CFA desirable but not essential.
• Strong quantitative/numerical skills with the ability to interpret financial information.
• Ability to work effectively as a project team member, under time pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Strong interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
