Purpose of Job
Here at EBRD we want to know things that will enable us to make ‘people related’ decisions with the greatest degree of confidence, driven by data. We want actionable insights accessible to decision makers (both business stakeholders and members of HR) to help solve business problems.
The role of HR Analytics Data Analyst is a data specialist within EBRD’s HR department, digging into data sets, analysing data and ensuring the Bank has the right information needed to make data-informed decisions. The role holder helps support HR reporting and analytics using Tableau, Cognos and in particular providing technical support and analysis using OrgVue.
The HR Analytics Data Analyst works closely with their line manager and other team members to deliver relevant agendas across the Bank. The Analyst is responsible for the delivery of discrete activities required to deliver projects within the OD Team’s project portfolio, forming recommendations and work priorities based on people analytics and business data.
The role will work closely with the HR People Analytics Team, other teams across HROD and Transformation Group’s Design and Transformation teams.
Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
Provide Business Stakeholders with Analysis and Insight
- From understanding of the data, the HR Analytics Data Analyst will be expected to offer additional insights into trends for stakeholders:
– Use statistical insights from employee data to make better people decisions.
– Use data and information to provide insights into people issues and guide improved, evidence-based decision-making and fix problems at the root cause.
– Ask the right questions when interrogating data to support meaningful insights for the Business, telling a relevant and compelling story.
- Where gaps exist in the current HR reporting platforms, the HR Analytics Data Analyst will provide detailed accurate analysis for stakeholders.
Deliver Improvements to the HR Reporting Capability
- Conduct design reviews with end users and consult data owners to iteratively improve reporting relevance and impact.
- Responsible for understanding relevant bank processes and ways of working, both internal and external to HR, and presenting appropriate reporting solutions.
- Carry out user acceptance testing on behalf of HR or business stakeholders when necessary.
Organisation Hierarchy Management
- Maintain Organisation Hierarchy centre of excellence and governance, leading to significant improvement in data quality relating to organisation hierarchy and organisation flags in SAP.
- Amend/create any new processes and guidelines (including KBAs and DocuSign forms) to support management of the Bank’s Organisation Hierarchy.
Drive continuous improvement
- Proactively identify gaps in the current HR reporting platforms and highlight possible solutions.
- Drive improvements in data quality.
- Support team members to improve their data analytics capability, understanding of appropriate use of data and storytelling.
Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Essential:
- Strong analytical orientation and data manipulation skills with an understanding of how data can be used to measure business outcomes and how data can be presented to inform and improve decision making.
- Deep analytical skills to deliver insight on qualitative and quantitative organisational data to drive decision making.
- Someone who takes a proactive approach to problem solving and enjoys fully immersing themselves in data, business constraints, & problems they are interpreting and asks the right questions to get at the deeper-level “why”.
- Someone who can take results of their analysis and communicate this in a relevant, concise and effective way, using excellent communication, storytelling and presentation skills.
- Good stakeholder engagement skills with key individuals across the department and wider Bank, including effective questioning and active listening and the ability to challenge constructively challenge in order to determine business requirements.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
- Experience of working in a data and analytics environment.
- Ability to manage and prioritise workload, to meet deadlines and follow through on completion of projects.
- Ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively across teams.
Preferable:
- Undergraduate Degree in Mathematics, or related Science based subject, or equivalent experience.
- Previous experience of OrgVue.
- Previous experience of using Cognos, Tableau or similar BI toolsets.
- Previous experience of working with SAP HR.
- Minimum 1-3 years of business experience and a commercial orientation.
- Experience of working on Organisational Design projects in a consulting organisation, or an internal consulting team.
- Experience of working in project teams.
- Ability to learn new skills in order to deliver business results.
