The Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) was founded in 1967 with the purpose of promoting regional cooperation in Southeast Asia, in the spirit of equality and partnership and thereby contribute towards peace, progress and prosperity in the region. ASEAN comprises ten (10) countries in Southeast Asia, with Timor Leste as its 11th member with an “Observer” status. It was proclaimed a community through the “Kuala Lumpur Declaration on ASEAN 2025: Forging Ahead Together,” signed by the ASEAN Leaders during the 27th ASEAN Summit in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, in 2015. The ASEAN Community Vision 2025 calls for the ASEAN Community in forging ahead together, and to work towards building a community that is politically cohesive, economically integrated and socially responsible.
The ASEAN Secretariat was established in 1976 by the Foreign Ministers of the ASEAN Member States with basic functions of providing greater efficiency in the coordination of ASEAN organs and for more effective implementation of ASEAN projects and activities. It is also envisioned to be the nerve centre of a strong and confident ASEAN Community that is globally respected for acting in full compliance with its Charter and in the best interest of its people.
In alignment with the ASEAN 2025 and Key Aspirations of the three pillars of the ASEAN Community, namely the ASEAN Political-Security Community, the ASEAN Economic Community and the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community, supported by the Department of Community and Corporate Affairs of the ASEAN Secretariat is inviting Indonesian Citizens or ASEAN Nationals who are already residing and eligible to work in Indonesia to apply for the position of Officer for APSC Analysis & Monitoring Division.
Remuneration and Benefits:
Successful candidate will be offered a basic salary of IDR 16,835,950 and attractive remuneration package including monthly transportation allowance, outpatient medical reimbursement, hospitalisation & life insurance, annual bonus of a month’s basic salary, and gratuity. Subject to good performance during the probation, the candidate will be offered a fixed term contract of three (3) years, inclusive of the 6-month probationary period.
2. To support the preparation of policy briefs based on studies/researches;
3. To prepare and/or support the crafting of situational reports on current and developing global and regional issues;
4. To support resource mobilisation in collaboration with ASEAN Member States and other divisions within the ASEAN Secretariat to support research on priority areas as needed and directed;
5. To support the establishment of links with other research institutions and think-tanks in the region and beyond on issues pertaining to political-security and external relations matters;
6. Undertake relevant work relative to the AOIP, as well as promoting cooperation with ASEAN’s external partners along the areas of cooperation identified in the AOIP, in collaboration with the relevant Division(s);
7. In collaboration with the relevant Division(s), to keep track of the ASEAN’s agreements and commitments, e.g. APSC Blueprint 2025 and its successor documents, cross-pillar issues, monitor commitments with Dialogue Partners and other external partners;
8. To support the undertaking of cross-pillar and cross-sectoral work on issues facing ASEAN;
9. To update the APSC bodies and other agencies on the monitoring report.
