01 The Job 

As the Area Fundraising Director, you will effectively collaborate within the Church and Ministry Partnership Teams to invite pastors and congregants into God’s transforming and renewing work of justice and mercy for the elimination of extreme poverty. Responsible to raise long-term donor value of $1.5M each year.   Establish, maintain and grow relationships with church pastors, denominations, national Christian leaders, and para church organizations to meet annual Team World Vision fundraising goals. Increase fundraising and partner/donor participation year-over-year by calling them to a life-changing commitment to serve the poor in the name of Christ. Help carry out our Christian organization’s mission, vision, and strategies. Personify the ministry of World Vision by witnessing to Christ and ministering to others through life, deed, word and sign.

  1. Keep Christ central in individual and corporate life.  Actively participate in and contribute to the spiritual disciplines of the organization (Christian conduct, chapel, prayer, worship, devotions, and leadership of devotions); incorporate WV Core Values into decisions within scope of role.
  2. Responsible for raising minimum of $1,500,000 in total value each fiscal year through sponsorship acquisition and one-time-gift primarily through peer-to-peer fundraising.   Establish at least 10 new church partnerships annually in assigned markets.
  3. Develop, expand and sustain long-term relationships through on-going interaction with senior-level pastors, churches, church influencers and donors, while shaping interest in our transformational experiences and offerings and positioning World Vision as a desirable partner.
    • Network through relationships with current pastors and pastor associations to develop new church partnerships.
    • Represent WVUS in high-level church network, association, denomination and agency meetings.
    • Conduct presentations with pastors, congregants, businesses/community groups and individuals regarding World Vision’s ministry, and inviting them to participate in Team WV sponsored sporting events and other church offerings.
  4. Provide training to team captains and runners, ensuring team captains are equipped with all the resources they need to adequately motivate and train their team to achieve their goal of completing the race and raising funds for World Vision.
  5. Engage with all appropriate WVUS staff members and leaders to set event strategy and ensure its effective implementation.
  6. Work collaboratively with department leaders in developing and implementing church and TWV growth strategies.
  7. Increase acquisition, retention, brand loyalty, and fundraising totals by conducting informational meetings, overseeing the execution of kick-off and race weekend events, participating in expos on behalf of Team WV and implementing marketing strategies in support of Team WV sporting events.
  8. Oversee the execution of Team WV events and meetings, to include some or all of the following: oversight of event budget, theme, registration process, speaker/entertainment, transportation, venue, audio visual technology, food and beverage selection, etc.
  9. Provide training to team captains and runners, ensuring team captains are equipped with all the resources they need to adequately motivate and train their team to achieve their goal of completing the race and raising funds for World Vision.
  10. Take qualified church pastors, TWV P2P fundraisers, or other Christian influencers on vision trips to World Vision projects.
  11. As assigned, update information on website and on various social media outlets regarding upcoming events and press release needs in coordination with the TWV Engagement team.
  12. Work collaboratively with team members when assigned to work as a member of a team.
  13. Perform other duties as assigned.
  14. Maintain awareness of corporate goals, objectives, organizational announcements, and activities. Reference and follow organizational policies and procedures, seeking clarity as needed.

04 You Bring

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent (eight years) work experience. In addition to education or educational equivalent, a minimum of 5 or more years of practical, specialized work experience in fundraising, ministry, partner management, marketing and/or sales. Specific background in athletic fundraising preferred. Knowledge of, and previous work experience with, church and/or athletic communities preferred. Knowledge of, and previous work experience with, church and/or athletic communities may be required.   Athletic fundraising work experience highly desirable.

05 Salary Range & Benefits 

The full range for this position is $82,633 – $131,997 annually. This applies to locations with a market similar to our U.S. HQ in the Greater Seattle area. A different range may apply based on your work location. Typical hiring range is $87,000 – $107,500 annually. Job offers within the range are based on relevant job qualifications and pay equity. World Vision employees see our Salary Administration Guidelines and My Life My Benefits pages on our organization intranet known as The Vine.
