Asia Program Development and Portfolio Management Officer

Reporting to Director and Head of Programs for Asia, Asia Program Development and Portfolio Management Officer will support the Asia Director for overall program management, identify and design green growth projects and programs for Asia and develop and strengthen strategic partnerships for the region.

PURPOSE

Asia Portfolio Management and Program Development Officer works closely with the Asia Director to develop and deliver new, multi-country and regional projects and programs while supporting the overall management of the Asia Portfolio.

ENGAGEMENT

The officer will be engaged internal and externally to support Asia Director by;

  • Maintaining good knowledge of Asia programs and GGGI’s enterprise software for results reporting and other operations in order to facilitate a regular and concise reporting of progress / issues in country programs and regional portfolio for Asia Director
  • Working closely with deputy regional directors, country teams, other regional officers, IPSD and other relevant units at GGGI to ensure effective program development and portfolio coordination
  • Building rapport with working-level staffs in stakeholder organizations in order to communicate requests, concerns, and other information in a timely and smooth manner
  • Engaging in stakeholder mapping and facilitating discussions between donors, investors, government, and various stakeholders
DELIVERY
  • Develop project proposals including single, regional, and multi-country proposals, country planning frameworks, strategic partnerships and host country agreements through;
  1. Compiling research case studies and other materials
  2. Performing quantitative and qualitative analyses through primary / secondary data
  3. Preparing technical reports and summary presentations
  4. Communicating on a regular basis, interim results to stakeholders to secure their buy-in
  5. Supporting the delivery of other components by providing technical input as needed.
  • Monitoring overall progress and implementation of Asia Portfolio to build common understanding and coordination on project, program activities
  • Identifying issues related to program delivery and resolve them by finding right solutions
  • Producing regular necessary internal & external reports with high level of quality in a timely manner
  • Communicating and coordinating with country teams, GGGI HQ, and donors
  • Contributing to other strategic issues concerning the operations of GGGI Asia Portfolio
REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Advanced academic degree in the fields of international sustainable development, green businesses, green policies and international relations and governance
  • Five years of relevant experience in policy, planning and proposal development preferred
  • Fluency in English, especially excellent writing and presentation preparation skills are essential
  • Overall understanding of the concept of green growth and climate change in the context of developing countries
  • Experience in project cycle management, including using online systems and software for project management and reporting desirable
  • Experience in day-to-day engagement with Government ministries / agencies and other stakeholders (private sector, NGOs, communities)
  • Experience working in or for Asian countries desirable
  • Experience in design and preparation of green growth projects is desirable
