Assessment of the impacts of climate and environmental changes on the Brazilian productive structure and dimensioning of efforts to mitigate these impacts, based on the use of the Input-Output Matrix
Provide assessments of the impacts of climate and environmental changes on the Brazilian productive structure and dimensioning of mitigation efforts for these impacts and relationships between economic sectors and their respective contributions to GHG emissions by state, based on the use of the Input-Output Matrix, at the national and subnational levels, and structural decomposition (SDA). These technical subsidies will be crucial for modeling future scenarios and guiding precise interventions in the productive structure and regional environmental policies.
Work Location

Expected duration
360 days
Duties and Responsibilities
The results obtained from the hybrid input-output model and the structural decomposition analysis (SDA) will enable a detailed evaluation of the relationships between economic sectors and their respective contributions to GHG emissions by state. The analysis will facilitate the identification of sectors and states with high emission intensity, both direct and indirect, and how these emissions are influenced by structural changes in the regional economy. Additionally, the SDA will provide insights into the main determinants of emission variations, such as technological evolution, changes in the input mix, and changes in final demand composition. These technical elements will be crucial for modeling future scenarios and guiding precise interventions in the productive structure and regional environmental policies. The consultancy must carry out the following activities: a) analysis of the compatible database between regional IPMs; b) analysis of emissions vectors by state and sector; c) methodological update of the estimation of the Brazilian Inter-regional Input-Output Matrix using administrative records; d) definition of a structural decomposition methodology for the Brazilian Inter-regional Input-Output Matrix; e) presentation of scientific articles of approximately 30 pages, containing: 1. Objectives, 2. Literature review; 3. Methodology employed; 4. Results and discussion.
