Purpose of Job

The Assistant Analyst is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of the trade finance operations for their designated area, as delegated by the Head of Team. The Assistant Analyst will additionally be responsible for drafting and preparing regular reports for internal and external stakeholders and maintaining databases.

The Assistant Analyst will take responsibility for the tasks assigned to him/her under the guidance of the operation leader or a more senior banker, which may include many aspects of the project cycle; supporting the marketing activities of the programme, training/technical assistance activities, participating in due diligence as well as effective post-signing implementation and monitoring.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Processing of transactions in line with established rules and procedures
  • Input transaction data into the Banks systems
  • Maintaining client and counterparty databases
  • Draft TFP reports to management and preparation of adhoc reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Undertakes investigations and inspections of data, processes and practice in accordance with the established procedure to identify potential or actual compliance issues and raises issues identified with the line manager
  • Contributes to the development and improvement of TFPs operational procedures
  • Updates procedures to reflect changes to policies and in current practice
  • Supporting senior bankers in the programmes marketing activities by preparing presentations, reports, updating websites and event organisation

Knowledge, Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Educated to degree level or relevant industry experience
  • Fluent English language skills, both verbal and written
  • Additional relevant languages would be beneficial
  • Strong computer skills with emphasis on Excel, PowerPoint, MSWord etc
  • Excellent writing skills and ability to draft and review reports and documents
  • Experience with SWIFT systems
  • Ability to organise and prioritise tasks effectively while working in a high-pressure environment to meet tight deadlines
  • Excellent organisational skills in order to prioritise a demanding workload from multiple sources
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Bank and its functions
  • Ability and desire to learn constantly and to absorb change constructively are of particular importance
