As the only specialized organization with the mandate to support educational policy, planning and management, the UNESCO International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) plays a unique role within the United Nations system. IIEP was established in 1963 as an integral part of UNESCO. It supports ministries of education around the world and other key actors to plan and manage education systems through its programs of training, technical assistance, policy research and knowledge sharing. IIEP offers training in various forms and lengths to provide professionals with the most practical, hands-on and flexible training in educational planning. Its training offer is constantly updated to ensure that IIEP plays a key role in assisting states to address new demands and agendas, not least the Sustainable Development Agenda (SDGs), in partnership with governments and other development partners.
This position is located in the Training and Education Programme Unit in IIEP, Paris office. Under the supervision of the Global Training Lead of IIEP’s Training and Education Programmes (TEP) and direct supervision of the core training programme coordinator, the assistant programme specialist will contribute to the coordination of the 2024 edition of the Foundations of Education Sector Planning and Management Programme and the implementation of the Global Training Strategy (GTS). She/He will also contribute to the implementation of other projects of the TEP Unit, when deemed necessary for the efficient organization of the team’s effort.
