JOB SUMMARY:
At CSIS we actively seek to employ a diverse group of people who embody our organizational values. We welcome and encourage individuals of all backgrounds to apply, especially those from traditionally underrepresented groups.
The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decision makers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
The Andreas C. Dracopoulos iDeas Lab, the award-winning creative and digital production department at CSIS, continues to be the gold standard for innovation in the global think tank space by using cutting-edge multimedia production to bring policy research to life.
We seek a creative, highly motivated, and organized self-starter to join our dynamic and fast-paced team as an associate digital content editor & producer. This is an ideal opportunity for entry-level multimedia journalists and policy editors who are eager to bring complex policy issues to life through crafting media-rich digital reports.
The person in this role will work with world-renowned experts and creative collaborators to tell compelling policy stories capable of generating real change. The position is involved in content strategy, editorial support, assisting with data visualization development, implementation, and project management.
Ideal candidates will have excellent project management and communication skills, strong editorial and content experience, and outstanding writing and design skills. They must have strong attention to detail, a trained creative eye, and be a natural problem solver. They will be called on to multi-task in a fast-paced and innovative environment while meeting tight deadlines and adapting as needed to the topic and scope of the project at hand. A background or familiarity with audio production, web design, or coding is also a plus.
The position works closely with a range of subject-matter experts and must have strong topical research skills, ideally with a passion for public and international affairs. Additionally, the candidate will be a strong team player and self-starter who will thrive in a creative, collaborative multi- and cross-disciplinary team, and possess strong leadership skills.
