Organizational Setting
The Department of Management (MT) provides a ‘platform of services’ that serves as a foundation for the successful delivery of the IAEA’s scientific and technical programmes. Its mission statement is as follows: “Solutions partner championing efficiency and innovation”. Thus, among other support activities, it assists a scientific manager in recruiting the right expert, helps a technical officer coordinate the purchase of radiation equipment, and ensures that all Board documents are translated and distributed on a timely basis to Member States. The Division of General Services provides service functions throughout the IAEA such as travel and transport support, facilities management, archives and records management, and management of the VIC Commissary. It has five sections. The Seibersdorf Laboratory Services Section provides site operation technical and administrative services to IAEA laboratory activities in support of programme implementation. These include facility, technical, engineering, property and transport management. The Section has a diverse complement of 35 staff, including technicians, drivers, procurement assistants and FM support. The Facilities Management and Engineering Unit is situated in the Seibersdorf Laboratory Services Section (SLSS) and is located at the IAEA’s Laboratories in Seibersdorf, approximately 45 km south of Vienna. Main Purpose Under the supervision of the Section Head of SLSS, and in close collaboration with the Supervisor FMEU, the incumbent participates in all SLSS project activities. S/he prepares technical drawings, contributes to cost estimates and bills of quantities for building and construction related projects. In addition, s/he updates facilities management data for the site. Remuneration The remuneration for this consultancy is a daily fee of up to a maximum of € 150, based on qualifications and experience. In case duty travel is required within the assignment, a daily subsistence allowance (DSA) and travel costs are provided. Health coverage and pension fund are the responsibility of the incumbent. |
