This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB, the European Union’s bank is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS-GDO), Business Solutions Department (BSD) – Lending Division (LD) – Front Office Lending Unit (FOL) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an (Associate) Functional Analyst / PEGA Business Architect*.

This is a full time position (part time of 80% can be also accommodated) at grade 4/5 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

As part of our lending digital transformation program, you will work alongside a dedicated squad leader and technical expert in a team focused on delivering exceptional IT solutions. Your role will be crucial in shaping our business processes and systems, ensuring they align with industry best practices and meet our strategic goals.

Operating Network

You will report to the Head of the Unit and work in close collaboration with the squad leaders and internal business customers.

The Front-office Lending Unit is in charge of the EIB front-office lending applications used by more than 2’500 users to manage EIB lending activities from the appraisal of any lending products up to the contract signature as well as the contracts monitoring.

Accountabilities

  • Work with business and development teams to understand and document business requirements, processes, and workflows. Your insights will help identify business needs and assess the impact on existing applications, guiding us to the best solutions leveraging PEGA solutions
  • Dive into new business developments and initiatives related to the Lending value chain. You’ll collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and development teams to bring these ideas to life
  • Make sure IT policies and initiatives in your domain are followed, ensuring that key operational processes run smoothly and effectively
  • Work with users to review and prepare business cases that support our goals
  • Prepare and maintain detailed PEGA functional specifications that meet IT standards and operational needs
  • Work closely with customers and internal stakeholders to provide top-notch support and ensure their needs are met
  • Offer specialized advice on application systems and help solve operational and functional problems
  • Continuously seek to align our product direction with the overall strategic priorities of the division and department
  • Take part in special initiatives that go beyond your primary domain, contributing to the broader goals of our team.

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in computer science, information technology or related disciplines
  • At least 3 years of relevant experience with strong exposure to functional or business analysis
  • Experience in an agile software delivery environment
  • Knowledge of business requirements elicitation, data modelling, process analysis, design and optimisation techniques
  • Some knowledge of prioritization principles and ability to assist project management team with project delivery
  • Ability to conceptualize, communicate clearly, collaborate with various teams, and align with stakeholders
  • Previous experience in banking and/or insurance would be of a distinct advantage
  • Experience as a functional or business analyst or citizen developer in PEGA would be a strong advantage, alternatively experience with other BPMS platforms (Appian, SalesForce)
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (**), with a good command of the other. (Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage).

(**) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
