The International Rice Research Institute (IRRI) is dedicated to reducing poverty and hunger through rice science; improving the health and welfare of rice farmers and consumers; and protecting the rice-growing environment for future generations. IRRI is an independent, nonprofit, research and educational institute, founded in 1960 by the Ford and Rockefeller foundations with support from the Philippines government. The institute, headquartered in Los Baños, Philippines, has offices in 17 rice-growing countries in Asia and Africa, and over 1,000 staff.
Working with in-country partners, IRRI develops advanced rice varieties that yield more grain and better withstand pests and disease as well as flooding, drought, and other harmful effects of climate change.
IRRI’s gender and livelihoods research unit is implementing several projects including the Evidence Module of the CGIAR Gender, Youth and Social Inclusion Impact Platform; Work Packages on gender and social inclusion in the OneCGIAR initiatives on Gender Equality, Seedqual and Digital Innovations.
This position will support the Research Unit Leader and the gender research team working in these various projects in supporting planning, implementation, monitoring and reporting of various project activities, and managing associated partnerships.
This position will have a hybrid work arrangement with the flexibility to work from home and at IRRI’s office in Bhubaneswar, Odisha (as and when required). This position is open only for the permanent residents of India.
Master’s degree in gender or social sciences or business management plus five years of post-Masters relevant experience.
