Position Overview

The Associate, People & Culture is responsible for providing a range of administrative support to People & Culture team members and employees of UNF, supporting the onboarding process for new employees/interns, and supporting the internship and mentorship program for the Foundation.

This position is based in Washington D.C. (Hybrid schedule)

Essential Functions

  • Assisting with orientations for new employees by arranging for speakers and organizing presentations
  • Preparing onboarding documents, distributing manuals, guidelines and passwords as needed to new hires.
  • Maintaining personnel files and the organization of employee documents.
  • Coordinate with colleagues on the People & Culture team, Operations team, and IT teams to ensure a seamless transition from candidate offer acceptance to onboarding and orientation.
  • Provide administrative support to the Manager, Employee Engagement & Payroll.
  • Perform timely entry and administration of new employees and interns into the HRIS onboarding portal.
  • Process employment verification requests on behalf of current and former employees.
  • Track Reference Release Forms in HRIS when necessary.
  • Perform other duties and special projects as directed and/or assigned.
  • Assist in planning internship events, including volunteer opportunities and lunch-and-learns.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree required and/or 1-3 years of experience in an administrative role.
  • Interest, knowledge, or work experience in Human Resources field preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Ability to maintain high degree of confidentiality.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated excellence working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to multi-task and juggle many projects at once is a must.
  • Strong professional interpersonal skills and diplomacy.
  • Ability to work independently as well as member of a team.
  • Ability to take initiative.
  • Dependable and consistent.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
