The Associate, Operations will work in collaboration with other members of the Global Operations team as well as with Programs, Communications, and Development team members to ensure effective operations for Girl Up headquarters. The Associate, Operations will lead on supporting Girl Up operating contracts and payments as well as support various operational functions and business processes that allow Girl Up to realize its mission. The Associate, Operations is a member of the Global Operations team and reports to the Manager, Finance, Girl Up.

This position is based in Washington, DC (hybrid schedule).

Essential Functions

  • Support the processing of all Girl Up operations agreements, liaising directly with UNF contracts team to draft, review, revise and execute all non-funding agreements.
  • Maintain working knowledge of the UNF agreement progress (for both contracts and grants), and when to utilize the proper templates accordingly.
  • Maintain an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNF’s finance/contracts team as needed.
  • Attend training sessions provided by UNF’s contracts team to maintain and keep up-to-date with UNF’s current policies and procedures.
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of UNF’s Salesforce database to be able to process and track agreements, extract information, and prepare reports.
  • Execute UNF’s due diligence process for vendors, contractors, and/or other non-funding partners with oversight.
  • Provide support with Girl Up payments to vendors, consultants, and grantees as needed.
  • Assist managers throughout Girl Up’s Intern Experience and provide team-wide support for the operational aspects of new staff onboarding.
  • Contribute to Girl Up’s action plan to promote diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) within the workplace and across programming led by Girl Up senior leadership team.
  • Serve as the main support focal point for UNF’s Operations team.
  • Administrate accounts for relevant business software and subscriptions and ensure Girl Up utilizes best practices in account security and password protection.
  • Maintain updated and accurate Girl Up listservs in coordination with UNF’s IT team.
  • Support internal reporting for goals and activities pertaining to HQ operations and support on overall business planning and reporting processes as needed.
  • Plan and support cross-team coordination for team-wide trainings, professional development opportunities, staff committees, team culture activities, etc.
  • Support Girl Up’s affiliate network and regional teams as needed, including with operational needs, planning efforts, reporting, resource development, etc.
  • Support with special projects as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 1-3 years of experience in non-profit administration.
  • Commitment to Girl Up’s mission and Core Values preferred.
  • Experience with youth development and girls’/women’s issues preferred.
  • Proficiency with project administration and business technology platforms (e.g., Asana, Salesforce, Microsoft Office Suite, SharePoint, etc.).
  • Experience with contract drafting, review, and terms.
  • Experience supporting business operations.
  • Experience with processing payments and liasing with finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully support projects.
  • Strong attention to detail, adherence to deadlines, and ability to handle multiple projects.
  • Strong skills working in teams and across many types of organizations — team-oriented, problem solver, relationship-builder, and strong inter-personal skills.
  • Ability to multitask in a very fast-paced, often rapidly changing environment.
  • Ability to work creatively and collaboratively.
  • Commitment to fostering an anti-racist and inclusive workplace.
  • Experience working with diverse and multi-cultural populations preferred.
  • General knowledge of global issues, and an understanding of the UN Foundation mission, programs, strategy and goals preferred.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
