Position Overview

The Associate, Private Sector Engagement will provide cross-cutting support to the UN Foundation’s Girls & Women’s team. This will include helping to support key engagement and learning initiatives, including the Five for 5 Initiative that provides support for the private sector to accelerate gender equality through workplace policies; the Global South Private Sector Learning Agenda which will focus on key levers and barriers to advancing gender equality; and supporting other collaborative initiatives involving the private sector. Additionally, the Associate, Private Sector Engagement will support existing partnerships, including through coordination with partners and in the planning and execution of events and engagements.

The Associate, Private Sector Engagement, will report to the Senior Director, Girls & Women Strategy.

This position is based in Washington, DC (hybrid schedule).

Essential Functions

  • Support project administration for Five for 5 initiative with oversight from the Senior Director, Girls & Women Strategy:
    • Support general work planning and deliverables.
    • Draft communications including regular community emails, event invitations, and update contact list.
    • Support coordination of events including event concept, identification and outreach to speakers, liaising with venue, and follow-up.
    • Update community knowledge hub with summaries of recent events, new case studies, and recent research from the field.
    • Support key Five for 5 members to develop company-specific case studies.
    • Support network health through community feedback mechanisms.
    • Assist in grant writing and reporting.
    • Provide Senior Director with thoughts or insights around program scope and work plan.
  • Support project administration for Global South Learning Agenda:
    • Provide administrative and logistical support to staff and, when appropriate, in-country consultants, including note-taking, travel arrangements, expense reports, contracts, and event planning.
    • Provide research support to staff and in-country consultants.
    • Draft communications including with in-country consultants and key informants, event invitations, and contact list.
    • Support private sector relationship management with oversight and guidance from Senior Director.
  • Support Senior Director in managing existing relationships, and identifying engagement opportunities for partners at key moments.
  • Support grant writing and reporting on private sector engagement.
  • Support meeting and tracking of deliverables for private sector partners.
  • Support UNF Public Affairs team with the #EqualEverywhere campaign including writing and editing materials and thought partnership.
  • Support outreach to partners and developing new opportunities.
  • Support the Vice President and Senior Director for Girls and Women Strategy with relevant private sector talking points, briefings, research, and knowledge products as needed.
  • Drafting and reviewing agreements and maintaining an understanding of all agreement terms and applicable flow-downs, consulting with UNF’s finance/contracts team as needed. (As applicable to the role)
  • Attending training sessions provided by UNF’s contracts team to maintain and keep up to date with UNF’s current policies and procedures. (As applicable to the role)
  • Maintain a strong knowledge of UNF’s Salesforce database to be able to process and track agreements, extract information, and prepare reports. (As applicable to the role)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Selection Criteria

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • 2-3 years of professional administrative experience.
  • Ability to support multiple complex projects simultaneously, work to deadlines with other team members with grace and effectiveness under pressure, and undertake independent problem-solving.
  • Excellent interpersonal and oral communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work in coordination with multiple teams.
  • A demonstrated knowledge of global issues and the UN human rights system, and an
  • understanding of the UNF mission, programs, strategy, and goals.
  • Strong writing, editing, research, and analytical skills.
  • Proven ability to articulate ideas and opinions to a broad audience.
  • Self-motivated, energetic individual with a willingness to learn quickly, and work in cross-cutting teams.
  • Ability to work under pressure and handle stress.
  • Ability to meet regular attendance/tardiness policy.
