JOB DETAIL

Org. Setting and Reporting

*The incumbent of this post reports to the Field Programme Support Officer, P4.

Responsibilities

*Produces, processes, and analyses data from various sources (internally and externally)
relevant to improving UNRWA’s operations, needs assessment, planning and advocacy
efforts; aggregates and analyses data to paint a clear picture of socio-economic situation and
refugee needs;
*Coordinates the development of high quality papers and presentations on programmatic needs
and context analysis; including charts, graphs, maps and infographics to promote data
utilization, dissemination and visualization; supports Field Programme Support team in the
areas of needs assessment, monitoring and evaluation, research methodology, sampling and
qualitative and quantitative data collection techniques and analysis;
*Supports Programmes in exploring and developing new areas of research, and provides
technical guidance in data analysis to support decision making;
*Serves as the Field’s focal person for analysis and maintenance of various refugee datasets
used for different reporting purposes; builds a strong professional relationship with a network
of humanitarian clusters from other governmental, non-governmental and international
organizations for better data sharing and analysis;
*Coordinates with UNRWA programmes and Results Based Management focal points to collect
and analyze data from various databases to assess programme achievement and challenges;
contributes to the drafting of Annual Operational Reports, Mid-Year Results Reviews, UNRWA
common monitoring matrix indicators, target and baseline setting, indicator definitions and
handbook development;
*Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor(s).

Education

*A university degree from an accredited educational institution in project management, social
sciences, mathematics, computer science or another related field.

Work Experience

*At least four years of progressive experience in programme cycle management, social
research and conducting quantitative data analysis of large datasets with good knowledge of
statistical applications is required

Languages

*Very good command of spoken and written English and Arabic;

Assessment

Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

Type of Contract: Fixed Term Appointment

Duration of Contract: 3 years including 1 year probation period, with the possibility of further extension, subject to the availability of funds, satisfactory performance and continuing need.

Conditions of service:
• Basic Salary: Monthly basic salary from $1490.30; and monthly dependency allowance up to $123.25.
• Leave: 36 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with six-day working week. 30 days of annual leave for staff attending UNRWA duty stations with five-day working week.
• Pension: Provident Fund contribution (15.2% of basic salary paid by the Agency)
• Other conditions of service and benefits may apply.

Additional Information:
The work may require travelling within/outside the Field, and may include working beyond regular working hours.

This vacancy notice is open to internal candidates.
