Org. Setting and Reporting
This position is located in the Global Integrated (e)Learning and innovation Programme, Crime Prevention and Criminal Justice Section (CPCJS), Division for Treaty Affairs (DTA), United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) in Vienna. The Associate Programme Officer will work under the direct supervision of the Programme Officer of the Integrated (e)Learning and innovation Programme. Responsibilities
Within limits of assigned authority, the incumbent will be responsible for the following specific duties: • Contribute to coordinating the development of digital Capacity-Building Activities with respective internal and external counterparts; • Design and draft eLearning storyboards and other learning materials in English, ensuring that the content is accessible and understandable to a wide range of audiences; • Participate in editing substantive content to be converted into efficient training materials and in incorporating relevant substantive inputs; • Contribute to the development and implementation of the Programme by monitoring specific aspects of its deliveries; identify problems and issues to be addressed and recommend corrective actions; liaise with relevant external and internal parties; identify and track follow-up actions; • Provide support in the development and strengthening of digital and in-person training globally; • Provide editorial support, including copy-editing to internal and external counterparts; • Assist in providing pedagogical guidance to UNODC projects and Programmes for the creation of blended learning; • Participate in the Assessment of Criminal Justice Academies; • Guide partner institutions to create their own capacity building activities; • Track and monitor the eLearning production flow to ensure that deadlines are met on time and with quality, as specified in the donor agreements and service orders; • Contribute to the identification of technology needs for the identification of software and systems that might contribute to the improvement of quality or timely delivery of the production assignments; • Contribute to the collection and analysis of data as well as identification of trends or patterns and provides draft insights through graphs, charts, tables and reports using data visualization methods for data-driven planning, decision-making, presentation and reporting; • Perform other work-related duties, as required.

Education
An advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent) in educational technology, instructional design, political science, international relations, human rights, public administration, or related field is required. A first-level university degree in similar fields in combination with two additional years of qualifying experience may be accepted in lieu of the advanced university degree. A first-level university degree and no experience will be accepted for candidates who have passed the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P).

Work Experience
A minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in project management, administration, or related area OR the successful completion of the Young Professionals Programme Examination (YPP), the United Nations National Competitive Recruitment Examination (NCRE) or the General Service to Professional Examination (G to P) is required. Work experience with the development of e-learning production (e.g. Articulate Storyline, Rise) is desirable. Work experience within the United Nations system or similar international organizations is desirable. Experience in editing of training and information materials is desirable. Working experience with an SAP platform, such as Umoja, including the Integrated Planning Management and reporting system (IPMR) and Service Orders is desirable. Experience in data analytics or related area is desirable.
Languages
English and French are the working languages of the United Nations Secretariat. For this position, fluency in English is required. Knowledge of another United Nations official language is an advantage.
Assessment
Evaluation of qualified candidates may include an assessment exercise which may be followed by competency-based interview.

This position is funded from extra budgetary resources. Filling of this position is subject to funding availability and the initial appointment will be for a period of one year. Extension of the appointment will be subject to the availability of funding.
