UNESCO’s Capacity Development for Education (CapED) Programme is a global initiative created in 2003 to provide least developed countries with the capacities they need to achieve national education priorities that reflect internationally agreed goals. CapED currently supports 20 countries through a capacity development approach in line with SDG4 in key areas of UNESCO’s Education Sector: sector-wide policies and planning, skills development and teachers. The CapED Programme is managed by a dedicated team at UNESCO Headquarters responsible for strategic planning, partners engagement, resource mobilisation, monitoring, and support to Field Offices implementing country programmes.
Under the overall authority of the Assistant Director-General for Education and the chief of the Executive Office, the guidance of the Chief of Unit, and the direct supervision of the CapED Team Lead within the Unit for Strategic Planning, Monitoring, Field and Institute Coordination (ED/EO/SPM), the incumbent will support the CapED Coordination Team, particularly through the monitoring and reporting of activities. UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, family allowance, medical insurance, pension plan etc.
The approximate annual starting salary for this post is USD 69,827.
