This position is based at our Luxembourg headquarters and requires regular office presence. The EIB offers you the opportunity to live and work in a truly international and multi-cultural environment. We also offer relocation support.
The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Group Corporate Services Directorate – Group Digital Office (GCS – GDO) – Business Solutions Department (BSD) – Risk Management & Regulatory Division (RD) – Credit Risk Unit (CR) at its headquarters in Luxembourg, an (Associate) Software Delivery Manager*.

This is a full-time position at grade 4/5 for which the EIB offers permanent contract (an 80% part time could be accommodated).

Panel interviews are foreseen as from September 2024.

Purpose

The Credit Risk (CR) Unit develops applications that are at the heart of the EIB, supporting core business activities. We are constantly innovating the way we work and how we develop software, using state of the art technologies.

We are looking for someone who is passionate in shaping the future of digital experience for the EIB Group as part of the Group’s Digital Transformation Program. You will be assisting multiple cross-functional teams in the design and implementation of software products providing solutions to business needs in credit risk management.

Operating Network

You will be reporting directly to the Head of Credit Risk Unit and closely collaborating with IT teams and internal business customers.

What will you do?

  • You coordinate with cross-functional teams including functional analysts, software engineers and quality assurance engineers to fulfil project-specific tasks, assign roles based on expertise, and foster a high-performing and continuously improving team dynamic.
  • You take on the challenge and make it happen! You focus on results with a self-driven and can-do attitude.
  • You oversee and facilitate business analysis activities alongside business analysts, stakeholders, and external consultants, aiming to create application specifications that meet business requirements.
  • You work closely together with the squad leader and business owner to develop a vision and path to achieve it, defining priorities and coordinating with all relevant stakeholders.
  • You apply and promote DevSecOps and agile development practices to deliver business value on a regular basis.
  • You are a firm believer of continuous improvement and actively monitor key performance indicators such as DevOps Research and Assessments (DORA) metrics.
  • You actively disseminate information, share knowledge, and promote a culture of compliance with IT policies, procedures, and guidelines among all staff members.

Qualifications

  • University degree (minimum an equivalent to a Bachelor) preferably in computer science or related disciplines
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant professional experience in coordinating internal and external Agile software development teams and projects, preferably in the financial or banking sector. (Preference will be given to candidates with more senior exposure)
  • Excellent knowledge of agile and project management principles, methods and practices
  • Project experience preferably with in-house developed applications, using technologies such as Java, JavaScript, React and Python
  • Experience working in multicultural teams, preferably working with external service providers in a multisource environment
  • Good understanding of DevSecOps principles (experience with Azure DevOps is preferable)
  • Additional knowledge of Credit Risk is a strong advantage
  • Additional experience working with managed services or dealing with service providers is a strong advantage
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other.

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL).
