Purpose of Job

The Associate – is core to donor reporting, donor communications, event management including donor related visibility events, preparation of donor briefing notes and presentations on behalf of the Gender and Economic Inclusion Team in the Bank. The Associate will work closely with the EBRD Communications and Donor Partnership departments.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities

The Associate will support AD in all donor related programmes, including TC structuring, donor reporting, impact monitoring. Furthermore, the Associate will work closely with Communications and Donor Partnerships to support the production of editorial and audio-visual content for use in EBRD internal and external publications, on the intranet and internet, for use by the media and on social media. The Associate also supports donor-related visibility events, which inform and engage internal and external audiences.

The Associate – is a member of the GEI team in the pillar “Policy and Technical Cooperation” and is expected to demonstrate initiative, manage multiple tasks and work with limited supervision.

The Associate:

  • Works on all aspects of donor reporting including the preparation of regular donor reports for bilateral donors, for donors participating in multi-donor fund “Action for Equality and Gender” and relevant EU programmes.
  • Ensures donor compliance and reviews internal approval documents for internal committees but also external donor stakeholders.
  • Screens donor funded TC proposals with Banking teams on their eligibility of related donor programmes and takes an active role in preparing applicable approval documents.
  • Develops templates, guidelines and other support documents, which will enable efficient and delivery of TCs.
  • Monitors implementation and results for all GEI linked investments and TCs supported by donor programmes.
  • Highlights, publicises and promotes GEI (EBRD) – donor partnerships and projects internally and externally
  • Maintains effective relationships with related donor representatives, relevant EBRD departments and EBRD Resident Offices as required.
  • Generates compelling, articulate content, both written and multimedia, which promotes the Bank’s GEI related donor activities
  • Makes targeted use of intranet and internet, social media as well as printed and digital publications
  • Provides regular input to bank-wide publications such as Annual Report, Sustainability Report, Shareholder Special Fund Report etc.
  • Designs a GEI newsletter to ensure Bank staff and donors are well engaged with our activities
  • Manages G&EI quarterly progress and other reports to senior management or external stakeholders including donors
  • Support the organisations of related donor visibility events
  • Manages the internal project tracking mechanism and provide regular updates
  • Prepares high quality GEI briefing notes for senior management

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications

Academic Qualification

  • Master’s degree from a leading university in a relevant discipline such as international relations, international development, economics, finance, business or communications.

Experience/Technical Skills

  • At least five years of relevant experience in an international financial institution or donor organisation, including the understanding of banking transactions
  • Highly literate, with excellent writing skills in English (i.e. report writing)
  • Effective, persuasive and diplomatic skills
  • Excellent planning, time management and proven project management skills
  • Ability to operate in a multinational, multicultural environment with continuously changing priorities
  • Ability to maximise use and benefit of multiple communications platforms, including the internet, intranet, digital and print publications, presentations and events
  • Full proficiency in MS Office applications, in particular MS Excel and Power Point
  • Ability to think strategically with a strong attention to detail and solid numerical skills
  • Ability to manage complex network of stakeholders, sound decision making skills and problem resolution ensuring adherence to established procedures for project approvals and management
  • Ideally, previous experience of structuring and managing TC / donor funds (or similar) projects
  • Ability to communicate effectively (informing, presenting, advising, negotiating) at different levels within the organisation as well as with external stakeholders
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills
  • Strong analytical skills, including the ability to interpret data
  • Completing tasks to a high degree of accuracy
