The EIB, the European Union’s bank, is seeking to recruit for its Human Resources Directorate (HR), HR Strategy and Governance Department (HRS&G), Employee Relations & Wellbeing Division (ER&W), at its headquarters in Luxembourg, a (Associate) Well-Being Coordinator*.

This is a full time position at grade 4/5 for which the EIB offers a permanent contract.

*internal benchmark: Analyst / Officer Human Resources

Panel interviews are anticipated from mid-May onwards.

Purpose

The Employee Relations & Wellbeing Division brings together the legal expertise within the HR Directorate and the Wellbeing team. The Wellbeing team aims at reducing stress and absenteeism and avoiding conflicts at work. It manages difficult work situations and conflicts at work and is in charge of the development and implementation of the Wellbeing policies at the EIB.

In order to strengthen staff engagement and wellbeing in the workplace, as an (Associate) Well-Being Coordinator you will provide prevention services to the various business lines within the Bank with a view to reducing stress and absenteeism and avoid conflicts at work. You will also manage difficult work situations and conflicts at work and contribute to the development and implementation of the Wellbeing policies and procedures at EIB.

Operating Network

You will report to the Head of Employee Relations and Wellbeing Division working in a team of professionals who are developing and/or implementing Wellbeing policies, projects and initiatives Bank-wide, with a particular focus on preventive action. You will work across the Division and Department, being in regular contact with employees, HR Business Partners, Coordination Teams and managers across the Bank.

Accountabilities

  • Follow-up of long-term sick leave cases when flagged internally or upon staff’s request.
  • Manage the return to work after a long-term absence.
  • Manage and provide support to workplace conflicts.
  • Monitor the work of the external mediators.
  • Manage claims for the recognition of occupational accidents and/or diseases.
  • Act as coordinator of the Confidential Counsellors’ team together with the other Wellbeing Coordinators.
  • Support the implementation of wellbeing measures and initiatives following employee surveys, such as psycho-social risk assessments.
  • Contribute to psycho-social risk assessments (for example, by organising focus groups within the Directorates).
  • Together with the Directorate HRBP, follow-up on the Wellbeing action plan of the Directorate you will be in charge of.
  • Raise awareness and give advice to management and HR professionals on wellbeing matters.
  • Contribute to the formulation of wellbeing policies and the implementation of wellbeing programmes

Qualifications

  • University degree, preferably in Human Resources, Psychology or Social Sciences or other subjects
  • At least 3 years of relevant professional experience (e.g. HR, psychology, wellbeing matters etc..)
  • Knowledge of good practices and tools in the area of workplace conflict management and organisational health
  • Experience in a multicultural organisational environment
  • Proven ability to engage empathetically with multiple stakeholders and effectively promote/manage/coordinate initiatives
  • Good understanding of EIB’s mission, organisation and activities
  • Good IT skills and at ease with hands-on with IT systems
  • Excellent knowledge of English and/or French (*), with a good command of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.

(*) Unless stated explicitly as a required qualification, a good command of French is not a pre-requisite for hire. As both English and French are however official working languages of the EIB, proficiency in both languages is a pre-requisite for your future career development. Any language clause in your contract must be fulfilled in order for you to be eligible for a promotion (either via the annual appraisal cycle or via an internal selection process). Proficiency is understood to mean the attainment of level 5 of the Inter Institutional language courses, corresponding to B1.2 of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFRL). The Bank offers appropriate training support.
