About the program:

The WRI Operations Department strives to make all global officescapableand low risk, enhancing their operational capabilities, establishing sustainable growth through a bond of mutual respect, collaboration and sharing knowledge across the sisterhood of WRI offices. This is done by targeting standards of performance, and measuring efficiency and effectivenessacross all the offices.

 

Internship Highlight:

As a Business / Accounting Intern at WRI Europe, you will contribute directly to the successful implementation of our new ERP system (Workday). This structured internship will give you exposure to the intersection of accounting, technology, and organizational operations. You will report to the Regional Manager, Accounting and Finance.

You will be able to develop in terms of:

• Professional Development: Hands-on experience in ERP (Workday) implementation and practical exposure to organizational accounting processes

• Skills Building: Enhance your project management, documentation, and communication skills

• Networking Opportunities: Collaborate with WRI experts and contribute to impactful initiatives.

 

What you will do:

ERP Implementation Project (50%)

  • Assist in documenting financial processes and workflows
  • Create instructional materials and training guides for end-users
  • Support the setup of the accounting environment to align with organizational needs

Daily Operational Tasks (30%)

  • Provide assistance with day-to-day accounting activities, such as data reconciliation and financial reporting
  • Contribute to maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of financial processes

Personal/Academic Development (20%)

• Dedicate time to academic work or independent projects that align with your learning objectives.

 

What you will need:

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Interns at WRI Europe must be registered in a study program with a Dutch college or university for the full duration of the internship
  • Interns must have established approval from their University to undertake an internship before applying
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
  • Proficiency in Excel
  • Excellent written and verbal communication in English
  • A proactive and detail-oriented individual
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
  • Interest in sustainable development and technology-driven solutions is a bonus.

 

Conditions of the internship:

  • This is a 6 month internship with a start date of March 10 2025
  • This internship will be based at the WRI Europe office in the Hague with some flexibility to work from home
  • This internship offers a reimbursement of 700 euros per month based on full-time working hours (32 hours per week).
