Main purpose of the role

The Business Change Manager is a subject matter expert in the field of change management. They will work closely with the Global Head of DTS, the Head of Change Delivery and the Change Delivery Team to scope out new change initiatives. They are responsible for defining and measuring the benefits and adoption metrics for proposed, planned, and delivered change initiatives. They will provide expertise, guidance and coaching relating to training, communications and change management to the wider Change Delivery Team and CIFF.

 

Role’s responsibilities

New Change Opportunities

  • Work with the Global Head of DTS by participating in Business Relationship Management activities to ensure ‘Business Improvement Opportunities’ are sought, understood, documented, and presented at the appropriate governance.
  • Investigate shortfalls, issues, and complaints in current business processes.
  • Lead workshops with stakeholders to understand how to enhance productivity and staff satisfaction.
  • Analyse AS-IS business processes and procedures & developing process enhancement initiatives.
  • Work with stakeholders to develop and present Outline Business Case (which includes a cost/benefit analysis) for new initiatives.
  • Define and capture project success criteria and expected benefits to be realised and define and manage the approach for measuring ongoing benefits.
  • Make recommendations to senior stakeholders/governance groups for prioritisation and sequencing of change initiatives based on an Outline Business Case ensuring alignment with the change roadmap and broader organisational strategy/priorities.

Change Readiness and Roll-Out

  • Create clear, practical, and manageable change plans in collaboration with the project lead/team, update the plan as required
  • Lead on all aspects of change management within day-to-day project delivery
  • Drive the UAT (user acceptance testing) with the business users, which includes performing some parts of the UAT, providing test scenarios, and reviewing defects raised.
  • Conduct Business Readiness Assessments and adapt plans to counter any risks/issues uncovered
  • Responsible for change management activities including developing business communications, trainings, and documentation for the users.
  • Ensure changes are fully adopted and new ways of working are embedded, instructing project teams on remedial actions where required.
  • Perform follow up analysis on projects and changes after implementation, continually measure success and identify opportunities for improvements.
  • Work with the Global Head of DTS, Head of Business Change and Head of Change Delivery to develop quality, standards and templates for training plans, transition, benefit realisation and business communication where there are gaps.

Benefits, Embedding and Measurement

  • Responsible for identifying, mapping, baselining, measuring, and reporting on benefits.
  • Work with the Head of Change Delivery, Change Delivery Team and business stakeholders to maintain focus on adoption, embedding and benefits realisation throughout the change lifecycle.
  • Ensure adoption metrics are defined & measured recommending further change to support embedding.
  • Regularly report/present on benefits realisation to relevant governance/forums

Membership and leadership of the team

  • Be a role model to less experienced team members, demonstrating CIFF’s leadership behaviours and providing mentorship to aid their growth.
  • Adopt a coaching approach with colleagues which instils a culture of openness and trust, embraces diverse thinking, and encourages continuous improvement and learning.

Change Design and Business Analysis

  • Manage full scoping for new change initiatives.
  • Elicit business requirements from stakeholders and other relevant sources, including functional, non-functional, and operational requirements.
  • Generate high quality business requirements documentation (such as customer journeys, requirements specifications, user stories, use cases and acceptance criteria). Produce “As-Is” and “To Be” process models as required.
  • Work closely with the development and business teams throughout the project lifecycle to ensure that the requirements are understood, and development is aligned.

Requirements

Skills & Experience

Essential:

  • Detailed understanding and demonstrable experience of using different Change Management approaches and methodologies
  • Experience of change management across project/programme lifecycle resulting in successful adoption and embedding
  • Demonstrable experience of project management and continuous improvement methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Lean Six Sigma)
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence and negotiate stakeholders of all levels motivating them towards a common goal
  • Experience of developing training materials
  • A clear communicator experienced in delivery multi-channel project communications, including blog posts, newsletters, and go-live emails
  • Experience of workshop design and facilitation
  • A skilled presenter with the ability to tailor messages appropriately to the audience including senior management
  • Good organisational skills with a natural inclination for problem-solving and root cause analysis
  • Strong ability to prioritise, multitask and work independently, whilst maintaining the quality of work expected and meeting multiple deadlines as required.
  • Flexible and adaptable; able to work in ambiguous situations, resilient and tenacious with a propensity to persevere
  • Is passionate about CIFF’s mission, maintaining perspective on how daily actions contribute to improving the lives of children

Desirable:

  • Change Management qualification (e.g. Change Management Foundation and Practitioner, ProSci Practitioner)
  • Project Management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2, Agile PM of equivalent)
  • Business Analysis qualification (e.g. ISEB)
