Throughout the duration of the contract, the consultant will provide comprehensive technical support, ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of systems and addressing any technical queries or challenges that arise. Furthermore, the consultant will resolve issues related to SQL Server ETL packages, optimizing data integration and processing workflows to enhance system performance and reliability.
Duties and Responsibilities
BACKGROUND: ITC is a joint agency of the United Nations and the World Trade Organisation for trade-related technical cooperation in developing countries. Within the ITC, the Information Technology & Systems (IT&S) department operates under the Division of Programme Support (DPS). As part of its IT strategy, IT&S is actively involved in various ongoing information development projects. To support these projects, IT&S is currently seeking a qualified international consultant. DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES The International Consultant, under the direct leadership and supervision of the Chief, Information Technology & Systems, and guided by the Manager, Information and Development Unit, will be responsible for the following tasks: Implementation and Technical Support for ITC’s Corporate data: • Be responsible for designing, developing, integrating, and deploying new features for corporate PowerBI dashboards, ensuring that these enhancements align with the objectives of business owners and meet user needs. • Focus on improving the user experience of corporate PowerBI dashboards by adhering to established design guidelines and standards to create and implement intuitive user interfaces. • Actively troubleshoot and resolve any technical or operational issues encountered with the system. This includes diagnosing problems, proposing and implementing solutions, and monitoring the system to prevent future issues. Contribution to the 2024 Workplan: • Engage in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of various IT projects. • Work in collaboration with clients and other IT systems officers to implement solutions as per IT 2024 work plan. • Provide continuous support and maintenance for IT applications, systems, and projects. • Develop user manuals and conduct training sessions related to these IT solutions. Copyright The Consultant has to ensure that s/he has obtained the necessary permissions with regard to intellectual property rights required to perform his/her services under this consultancy contract and for the subsequent dissemination by ITC in any form. Documentary proof is to be submitted to ITC. Should any license fee be due for the use of copyrighted materials of third parties, the Consultant shall request the prior written permission from ITC. S/he has further to ensure to obtain accreditation to event(s), if required. Qualifications/special skills
Undergraduate degree (BA/BSC or other) Technology, computer science, engineering or a related field. Extensive relevant experience may be accepted in lieu of the university degree. Minimum of five (5) years of experience as business intelligence analyst. Previous work experience on SQL databases and building PowerBI dashboards. Skills: Excellent knowledge of data modelling and visualization. Expertise in : – PowerBI, PowerQuery – SQL queries – DTSX packages Knowledge of web development tools JavaScript / HTML 5 / CSS / Bootstrap / ReactJS Willingness to learn new skills and work in an international environment with people from different background.
