Assignment/Activity: This consultancy aims to provide expert opinion and guidance in development of treatment protocols, training modules and SBCC packages, finalization of implementation plan, SOPs including treatment protocols, training modules and SBCC packages developing a comprehensive and scalable pediatric NCD service delivery model at primary health care systems for children and adolescents in Bangladesh in consensus with pediatric NCD experts and other relevant stakeholders.

Scope of work:
The consultant will contribute to the project “Designing and piloting of an evidence-based comprehensive NCD service delivery model for children and adolescents through government primary health care systems” of the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD), Nutrition Research Division (NRD) which focuses on advising PI in finalization of the training module for the pediatric NCD service delivery model at primary health care system in Bangladesh in consensus with pediatric NCD experts and other relevant stakeholders. He/She will also responsible for organizing Training of the Trainers session at the national and at the field sites of two districts Bagerhat and Kishoreganj.
Specific Responsibilities:
Major responsibilities would include the following-
- Advise the Principal Investigator (PI) and relevant stakeholders in the finalization of training modules for pediatric NCD service delivery
- Actively participate in the development and finalization of the implementation plan and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
- Plan and organize Training of Trainers (TOT) sessions at both national and local levels, ensuring comprehensive coverage of training content.
- Execute TOT sessions at national (at least two) and local level (at least 2/each district) to provide guidance and support to trainers to ensure effective delivery of training.
- Conduct regular meetings (once/ twice per month) with PI and research team to monitor progress and address any challenges in the training module implementation.
- Monitor the performance of training sessions and identify gaps in training delivery and recommend modifications to training modules based on feedback before end of the project period.
- Assess the need for refresher training and organize sessions as required to enhance skills and knowledge retention.
- Maintain detailed records of training sessions, evaluations, and modifications made to the training modules.
- Provide regular update to the PI and stakeholders on training progress, challenges, and outcomes and submit a final report.
Expected deliverables
- Finalization of training modules for pediatric NCD service delivery as per PI instructions.
- Development and finalization of the implementation plan and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as per PI instructions.

Required qualifications and experience
- The consultant must have a post-graduation degree in pediatrics and specialization in pediatric Pulmonology/ Cardiology/ Nephrology/ Endocrinology/ Heamalotogy/ Neurology
- S/he should be a professor in the above-mentioned area
- S/ he must have over 20 years of experience in a government/private hospital.
- Have excellent knowledge about primary health care service.
- Excellent track record in development of national SOP, Protocol, Training Modules in pediatric NCDs.
- Publications in peer-reviewed journal while at least 5 articles as lead author also recommended.
