icddr,b seeks to hire a consultant to provide support in a research project entitled, “Conceived, Gestated, Born, and Raised amidst Conflict and Displacement: A Longitudinal Prenatal and Early Years Cohorts Study with Forcibly Displaced” funded by New York University. icddr,b, the sub-recipient, will lead and conduct the study with the Nutrition Research Division.

Assignment/Activity: The consultant will work with the Principal Investigator and Scientist, Nutrition Research Division, icddr,b. He/She will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing software solutions to contribute to the data management of the project.

Location: Abroad

Expected start date of assignment: November 2023

Duration: 62 Days

Scope of work: The consultant will report to his/her respective supervisor and s/he will complete the assigned tasks as planned under the Terms of References (ToR).

Specific Responsibilities: To design, configure and test the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) and database for surveying Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development–IV and extended version of International Development and Early Learning Assessment (E-IDELA) using Survey CTO.

• Web Technology: Java, JSP, Asp.net with C#, Asp.net with VB.Net, MVC 4.0, PHP, Laravel 5.5 Mobile
• Internet tools: HTML, JavaScript, Ajex, Jquery
• Statistical Software: SPSS 23, STATA 16
• Mobile Technology: Android

Consultancy duration, Terms and Travel requirements:

icddr,b will provide logistics support such as office space, stationeries, and travel costs outside Dhaka (if needed) to the consultant for this assignment.

Key performance indicators:

Deliver the Computer-Assisted Personal Interviews (CAPI) and database for surveying Bayley Scales of Infant and Toddler Development–IV and extended version of International Development and Early Learning Assessment (E-IDELA) for Survey CTO.

Required qualifications and experience:

• Postgraduate in Systems (Information Technology)
• At least 10+ years working experience on providing IT development and support to different types of project by using ODK based android app.
• Preparing dashboard for tracking study progress and data visualization tools and generation of analyzable datasets.
• Working experience on Kobo toolbox, Survey CTO and web-based technology such as Java, JSP, Asp.net with C#, etc. will be added advantage.
• Working experience on public health projects in developing countries.
• Publications in peer-reviewed journals.
