Under the USAID-funded Feed the Future Bangladesh Research Activity, the International Food Policy Research Institute (IFPRI) will implement the 2025 Feed the Future Phase 2 Zone of Influence (ZOI) Endline Survey across 21 southwest districts and the Phase 3 ZOI Round 1 Survey across 16 districts (collectively referred to as the dual-purpose survey) using a cross-sectional design. The survey will cover Dhaka, Khulna, Barishal, and Sylhet Divisions, with an estimated total sample size of approximately 3,000 households.
The objective of this dual-purpose survey is to generate evidence on the status of population-based survey (PBS) indicators related to food security, nutrition, agriculture, women’s empowerment, and resilience to support program and policy decisions of U.S. Government interagency partners, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) Bureau for Resilience and Food Security (RFS), the USAID Mission in Bangladesh, the Government of Bangladesh, and other development partners.
The activities of the survey implementing firm are detailed as follows:
● Participate in survey design and preparation, including:
○ Hire and train experienced male and female enumerators and supervisors
○ Type and format the draft and final survey questionnaires in Bangla
○ Pretest the survey questionnaires
○ Assist in finalizing the survey questionnaires after pre-testing
○ Conduct household listing exercise in areas of the Feed the Future ZOI
● Administer the dual-purpose survey across 3,000 households, including the Feed the Future Phase 2 ZOI Endline Survey and the Feed the Future Phase 3 ZOI Round 1 Survey.
● Grant specific IFPRI team members access to the data server and support the development of a dashboard to visualize and monitor real-time or same-day survey responses, ensuring seamless access for the team.
● Share the complete data generated from CAPI with IFPRI during the data collection, as and when the data is uploaded to the servers. These data will not be the cleaned data sets, but the raw data sets as sent to the firm from their survey teams.
● Perform routine data cleaning for consistency and range checks, following IFPRI’s data cleaning protocol, and share error-check do-files with IFPRI.
● Perform detailed data cleaning, documentation, and quality checks.
● Recording cost estimates: monetary and non-monetary.
● Deliver the clean datasets for the dual-purpose survey with full documentation to IFPRI.
