JOB PURPOSE

In your role as a Campaigner, you will be responsible for leading campaigns, managing and coordinating actions and working on projects that lead in the development and implementation of campaigning strategies. You will manage and coordinate actions and projects on the human rights of refugees and migrants in Europe.

ABOUT YOU

As a Campaigner you will be able to use initiative to managing conflicting demands, meeting deadlines and adjusting priorities. You will also have a proven ability to evaluate campaigns and projects and to report progress against stated objectives

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the development and implementation of the campaign strategy in Europe, ensuring campaigns identify and take advantage of political opportunities to create measurable change.
  • Assess opportunities for action, identifying creative and effective campaigning tactics.
  • Implement campaign projects, coordinating activities across multiple campaign trajectories, coordinating peak periods of activism and providing advice to a range of staff on building campaign strategies and using specific techniques.
  • Ensure effective communication between relevant IS teams, sections and structures and partners.
  • Develop partnerships and identify opportunities for cooperation with external organizations so that AI campaigns build on and contribute to regional civil society movements

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • The ability to adapt to fast-changing political situations in a rapidly changing environment and experience of employing political judgment and of assessing the most effective means of communication to achieve a goal within given constraints.
  • Excellent communications skills in English, both written and verbal
  • Experience of writing motivating and inspiring campaign materials for a diverse range of target audiences; working knowledge of other European languages is desirable.
  • Ability to undertake desk and field research to gather information relevant to the development of campaign strategies,
  • Awareness of issues of social justice, equality and fairness and an understanding of equal opportunities issues,
