The Cash Program Officer is responsible for supporting the Integrated Early Childhood Development (IECD) Project, an Australian NGO Cooperation Program (ANCP) funded initiative to support children 0-5 years of age in Vanuatu to achieve their full development potential by ensuring they are raised in a nurturing environment, with reduced exposure to violence and are protected from the impact of climate change.
Save the Children Vanuatu successfully delivered a series of pilots of cash and voucher assistance in 2022 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Building on the experience of delivering cash during a period of crisis, our ambition is to work alongside the Vanuatu Government to design and deliver a pilot disability grant; helping tackle the economic insecurity facing people and children with a disability.
The main role of the Cash Program Officer is to support the design, implementation, monitoring, and evaluation of this new pilot disability grant; using it as an advocacy platform to work with the Vanuatu Government to address many of the common myths around cash programming and to strengthen the country’s national social protection system.
The Cash Program Officer will work closely with internal and external stakeholders across the Vanuatu Government and civil society to raise awareness and knowledge on cash programming, social protection and to support government efforts to strengthen social protection.
