Brief Description of the project:

The Respiratory Disease Hospital (RDH) in Teknaf, Cox’s Bazar provides treatment to the disease affected people from the Forcibly Displaced Myanmar Nationals living in the refugee camps of Cox’s Bazar district as well as to the host population living nearby. The RDH provides treatment predominantly for respiratory diseases to patients of all age groups.

Position description:

• Understand research protocol and plan for its implementation (milestones,delivarables etc);
• Align implementationplans across partners( internal and external);
• Assign work to team and initiate activities as per project plan;
• Conduct reguler meetings with subordinates to monitor deliverables against timelines and research criteria;
• Coordinate the ERC audit or any other visit for briefing on progress of the project.
• Interact with community leaders to seek buy-in for research activities;
• Shortlist participants for inclusion in the research study;
• Seek consent from the shortlisted participants by providing rationale and answers towards the concerns raised by them; Record basic demographic information and detailed participants history for treatment;
• Direct team to implement research activities(fill questionnaire, administer intervention etc), when required;
• Compile and record results; update records; follow-up on the health of participants to record outcome;
• Prepare report and share findings with the supervisor in order to execute activites in accordance with research protocol.
• Promote a spirit of collegiality and gender diversity amongst team members and in the organisation;
• Address and resolve any diversity related issues;
• Set goals and conduct appraisals for the team;
• Mentor young professionals and prepare them for higher responsibilities;
• Take appropriate actions to manage poor performance( such as creating Performence improvement Plans, coaching, job rotations, planning separations from icddr,b).

Required qualification and experience:

• BSc in Nursing with valid registration from the Bangladesh Nursing and Midwifery Council (BNMC).
• 5 years relevant experience.

Contract Type and duration:

• CSA basis for 5 months with a possibility of extension subject to availability of fund and performance.

Salary & benefits:

• Tk.72,172/-per month (consolidated) inclusive of house rent and conveyance allowances;
• Festival bonus, income tax paid by icddr,b, and subsidized canteen; Transport and daycare facilities are subject to space availability.
