Introduction
The Green Climate Fund is the world’s largest dedicated multilateral climate fund and invests in impactful, innovative, catalytic programs and projects in developing countries across the globe. Internship Assignment

The Intern will provide operational and administrative support to the ​Head of the Office of the Chief Investment Officer​. S/he will have the opportunity to learn and expand her/his experiences by providing assistance in​ project pipeline management, strategic investment planning and implementation, and coordination of operational and strategic projects across the Fund’s Regional and central offices. ​

Under the overall guidance of the designated primary and alternate supervisors within the ​OCIO​, the Intern is expected to:

  • Assist with monitoring and data analysis of the GCF project pipeline and its management;
  • Support implementation of GCF’s strategic plan through drafting workplans, analysing portfolio data and contributing to departmental reports to senior management and the Board;
  • Assist with the roll out of a strategic training plan for the Office of the Chief Investment Officer
  • Assist with implementing new efficient approaches to simplify and speed up the work of the Fund
  • Working with other divisions to improve the Fund’s of its pipeline, portfolio and results.
  • Support other strategic and corporate priorities of the OCIO, including project management of cross-Secretariat change initiatives, as requested.

Requirements and qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in or recently completed a Master’s or PhD program in ​International Relations, Law, Finance, Economics, Public Policy​ or related fields;
  • Knowledge and experience with ​analysing complex problems, data and processes; and coordinating collaboration between multiple stakeholders;​
  • Ability to multitask and deliver within tight timelines, while demonstrating attention to detail;
  • Good understanding and experience in operations of international organization is an added advantage;
  • Standard proficiency in using standard software programs: MS Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel is essential. Intermediate to advanced competence in Excel is advantageous.
  • Proficiency in Data Visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI is essential, knowledge of the python programming language would be advantageous
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Fluency in English is essential; knowledge of another United Nations language, in particular French and Spanish, and/or Portuguese is an advantage.
