54 reasons’ Early Years teams go out into the community in Ceduna and surrounds to support families and children to reach their full potential. As part of the Play2learn program, we need you to bring your early childhood knowledge into our team, so we can make sure children and their families get the best quality support possible.

54 reasons is Australia’s leading child rights organisation – no ordinary not-for-profit.

Proudly part of the Save the Children Australia Group and global movement, we’re here to make sure that everyone understands their rights. So that children and young people have their rights met and thrive, in all their diversity.

We champion the children, young people, and families we work with. We are inspired by the curiosity and creativity of children and motivated by the love of those who care for them.

With the child’s voice at the centre, we provide quality services to children and their caregivers, advocating with them so that children develop, learn, and are connected, safe and confident. Our people are proudly local, reflective of the communities we serve – in every state and territory, and across regions, remote areas and capital cities.

Where you come in:

In this casual position based in Ceduna, you’ll create positive outcomes for children by assisting with the delivery of our Play2Learn supported playgroup programs, helping children and their families to engage and build on their skills and interests. Based in our Ceduna office, you’ll be part of our South Australian Programs team and report to our Team Leader.

You will make an impact by:

  • Organise and deliver age-appropriate activities
  • Identify and respond to the needs of children in the program in partnership with their caregiver/s
  • Assist with program set up, cleaning and documentation.

Does this sound like you?

You want children and families to have access to quality activities, and you’re passionate about the role of culture and community in children’s learning and family wellbeing.

This role requires:

  • Experience working with families from culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD), Indigenous or low socio-economic backgrounds, young parents, and socially or geographically isolated families
  • A passion for service quality with a solution-focused mindset
  • Strong interpersonal skills and an honest, friendly approach
  • A valid driver’s licence

Working at 54 reasons is more than just a job.

We are a learning organisation that invests in the development and wellbeing of our people. Our workforce is 600+ people strong, and proudly diverse, whether in race, ethnicity, gender, age, disability, sexuality, cultures and beliefs.

We are creative, connected and accountable, bringing energy, guts and ideas to all we do to champion children in Australia and partner with families, communities and partners to bring about change.

Other benefits include:

  • Generous casual award rate salary (SCHADS Level 2.1 – currently $38.08 per hour, due to increase in July) plus super
  • Individual learning plans to assist in your career development
  • Health and wellbeing support, including EAP
