Where you come in:

In this casual position based in Hay NSW (1 day a week on Friday until 30th June 2025), you’ll co-ordinate the planning, implementation, and review of culturally appropriate developmental play and learning experiences for children. You’ll also provide support and information to parents on developmental issues and make appropriate referrals to other health, education, and welfare agencies. Based in our Wagga Wagga office, you’ll be part of our Murrumbidgee Play2Learn team and report to our Team Leader, travel for training maybe required.

  • Evaluation and reporting

 

Does this sound like you?

You have experience in early childhood programs and the ability to think on your feet, which allows you to find solutions to complex situations. Your infectious enthusiasm for your job will see you actively seeking out families in need of support. Your cultural knowledge will help you build strong connections with children and families from varying cultural and socio-economic backgrounds. You consider yourself a team player and you have an ‘all-hands-on-deck’ attitude.

This role requires:

  • Demonstrated skills, knowledge, understanding and experience working with culturally diverse families, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families, families facing disadvantage and those isolated from their families
  • Demonstrated experience delivering early childhood programs with children aged 0-5 and their families
  • Knowledge of childhood development needs and understanding of stages and influences
  • Ability to create rapport and build relationships with adults and children from diverse cultural and socio-economic backgrounds
  • Demonstrated experience in using trauma informed practice
  • Sound time management and organizational skills, and ability to manage and plan own workload
  • Knowledge and/or experience in handling child protection concerns and processes
  • Strong computer literacy skills and capability to manage databases
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
