The Opportunity

Demonstrate leadership in relation to Plan International policies and practices with respect to Child Protection, Internal and External Safeguarding, overall technical leadership on Child Protection programming, policy influencing & advocacy, capacity building, people development, partnership, representation, studies and evaluations of child protection sector;

  • Provide leadership and oversight in the planning, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of all child protection project activities; assess the outputs, outcomes and impact of program interventions and activities;
  • Lead and deliver quality project/programme development to compete in funding opportunities (Scanning the situations, come up with innovation and also consider sustainability and also impact of the projects and programmes);
  • Supervise child protection activities within the CO with local implementing partners in the implementation of projects/ programmes, capacity building and facilitate learning among partners and stakeholders at different levels;
  • Represent the organization in all relevant forums at international level concerning child protection programs;
  • Involves in internal and external environment, networks, collations and alliances (Plan international regional forums, Child protection technical working groups, Mental Health psychosocial support technical working groups, GBV/ CP sub clusters, Adolescent and Youth Health Technical working groups and others).
  • Lead the planning of capacity building of staff on Safeguarding and PSHEA both humanitarian and development;
  • Coordinate with emergency response team the design of SG/PSHEA implementation;
  • Provide support to ensure that child and young people problems are adequately addressed in all program guidelines/procedures, as well as in all levels of project cycles (design, implementation, monitoring and evaluation); Job Description

About You

  • Education at Masters level or equivalent in the area Sociology, Social work, Psychology or equivalent;
  • Relevant experience managerial position with NGOs in leading programs and projects.
  • Demonstrated experience in the management of child protection programmatic areas;
  • Thorough knowledge of programming processes, systems and principles, and the ability to provide leadership and support to staff working at community level
  • In-depth knowledge of child-rights programming;
  • Strong knowledge and experience on Child rights, GBV, Family and Community based Psycho-Social Support, Child protection and safeguarding, child and family social work and Child protection in emergence
