The Nigeria INGO Forum (NIF) was established in 2014 to facilitate collaboration among international non-governmental organizations (INGOs) in Nigeria for humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding efforts. It serves as a vital platform for information sharing, advocacy, and engagement with authorities, donors, and the UN, ensuring the inclusion of INGO perspectives and those of affected populations in decision-making. Governed by a core membership of 59 members and nine observers, it operates under a Steering Committee comprised of five Country Directors and a Chair, supported by a Secretariat.

We are looking for people who are passionate about helping refugees and people forced to flee.

If you are those people, the INGO Forum in Nigeria is looking for an enthusiastic and passionate Cleaner to join our team in Abuja, Federal Capital. You will be responsible for keeping the office and surroundings clean at all times.The Cleaner will support in creating an organized and comfortable environment for staff, visitors, and partners.

  • Clean offices, meeting rooms, kitchens, restrooms, and common areas daily.
  • Sweep, mop and polish floors in the office.
  • Clean surfaces such as furniture, walls, doors, windows, carpets, curtains, blinds and washroom towels.
  • Dust and polish furniture and fittings and tidy up offices.
  • Clean (metal) fixtures and fittings and wipe down glass surfaces.
  • Empty and clean trash containers and dispose of trash in a sanitary manner.
  • Maintain all cleaning equipment and materials in a safe and sanitary working condition.
  • Replenish toilet paper, hand soap, and other hygiene supplies in restrooms, kitchens and office space.
  • Monitor cleaning supplies and report low inventory to the supervisor.
  • Monitor and report necessary domestic repairs and replacements.
  • Wash dishes and clean office/warehouse items according to agreed hygiene standards.
  • Checking all appliances are in working order.
  • Deliver any requested housekeeping items.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the office compound.
  • Follow health, safety, and environmental protocols to prevent accidents or hazards.
  • Perform any other task assigned by line manager.

1. Professional competencies

•             Experience in cleaning, preferably in an INGO or organizational setting.

•             Knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.

•             Ability to work independently with minimal supervision in fast-paced environments.

•             Good organizational skills and attention to detail.

•             Basic knowledge of health and safety regulations.

•             Ability to communicate effectively and professionally

•             Fluency in English, both written and verbal.

•              High school Graduate

2. Behavioural competencies 

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good writing skills
  • Proven ability to work with a team.
