Who we are
Founded over 50 years ago, PSI is a global nonprofit that makes it easier for people to live healthy lives and plan the families they desire. Through a locally rooted and globally connected network of local organisations, PSI works across 37 countries to support stronger, more resilient health systems and make quality, affordable care accessible to people where and when they need it. PSI’s origins as a leader in social marketing have grown into a broader mission as we seek to accelerate progress towards universal health coverage (UHC). Through working with the public and private sectors, we develop innovative solutions to complex global health challenges in primary health, sexual and reproductive health (SRH), malaria, HIV, and sanitation.
Join us!
Addressing climate change is increasingly central to achieving universal health coverage and by extension, PSI’s Global Mission to enable people to live healthier lives. The negative impact of climate change events on health are growing more pronounced in LMICs where more frequent and severe climate events disproportionately affect women, children, and marginalized populations. These impacts exacerbate the existing barriers to health services and make disease patterns shift, putting more at risk. In response, PSI is taking a dual approach: supporting health systems and the communities they serve, to be prepared, adaptable, and resilient while at the same time taking steps as an organization to reduce our own climate impact.
To help us shape our approach to reducing our own climate impact, PSI seeks an experienced consultant to help our country offices develop and refine Climate Actions Plans that address climate mitigation and preparedness for continuity of operations in the event of climate-related events. Plans will build on foundational work to assess greenhouse gas emissions and identify potential actions at country level carried out in 2023.
PSI seeks an individual or small business firm with proven experience in the climate sector, some familiarity with international public health a plus.
