The International Water Management Institute (IWMI), a CGIAR Research Center, is seeking applications from enthusiastic students who are looking to gain professional experience in the field of Communications and Knowledge Management for the CGIAR Initiative on Climate Resilience also known as ClimBeR.
Scope of internship
The ClimBeR initiative aims to transform the climate adaptation capacity of food, land and water systems, ultimately increasing the resilience of smallholder production systems to withstand severe the effects of climate change such as droughts, floods and high temperatures. Work Package 4 (WP4) of the initiative deals with multi-scale governance for transformative climate adaptation.
This initiative builds on the existing adaptation interventions. In close collaboration with stakeholders, the project identifies the governance pathways for enabling enhanced coordination for co-designing, co-developing and co-implementing adaptation interventions and coherent policies. Such governance processes will ensure bottom-up approaches that reflect community needs and priorities. This ClimBeR project also draws from best practices and lessons learned across countries and contexts.
During the internship period, the intern will assist communication activities of the ClimBeR initiative under the guidance of the Project Leader and in close coordination with the communication teams of IWMI and CGIAR.
The intern will assist in the following areas:
Qualifications, knowledge, and experience:
IWMI will provide a monthly stipend to the selected candidate during the internship period.
The duration of the internship is 6 months, with the possibility of an extension of another 6 months based on performance, the requirements of IWMI, and the availability of funds. This is a nationally recruited internship, and only Sri Lankan citizens are eligible to apply.
