Communications and Engagement Specialist (100%)
Role
ISO/CS is seeking a highly motivated and talented individual to join our Communications and Engagement unit to work on a wide range of communication and engagement activities and projects.
The role of the Communications and Engagement Specialist is to work collaboratively across the unit and ISO/CS to support the capturing and delivery of communications and engagement needs in alignment with our strategic objectives and outcomes.
This role will contribute to the implementation of communications plans and activities. They will also contribute insights and communications collaterals around operational or strategic opportunities as required.
We expect the successful candidate to be up-to-date with the latest communications practices and trends, have excellent communication skills and be able to express ISO’s views creatively.
Key responsibilities
- Devise communications plans to support ISO’s business objectives, extend awareness of its work and increase its reach
- Support the cross-functional work of the Communications and Engagement unit, implementing common methodologies and tools to drive and facilitate the successful delivery of projects
- Support the development of key messaging and themes, including those which contribute to the organization’s core communication collaterals (internal and external)
- Collaborate with heads of unit / projects to agree communications frameworks for delivery partners: coordinate areas of responsibility for communications on projects delivered by partners, agree reporting and evaluation measures, monitor activity
- Provide advice and recommendations on communications and engagement matters, in support of programmes and initiatives, and foster collaborative and mutually supportive relationships across units
- Manage communication workstreams on projects where needed
- Ensure communication and engagement linkages between ISO programmes, projects and day-to-day work across the organization
- Improve the collaborative development of communication and engagement plans and subsequent project results
- Ensure quality control of all ISO materials by applying appropriate format and branding of products and presentations
- Manage relationships with external providers and consultants
- Support the team in day-to-day activities including editing, publishing and share daily content across digital channels
- Foster outbound engagement, through specific actions and deliverables
- Participate in the development and execution of conferences/workshops or other communication-related events as necessary
- Support other units to maintain consistent brand guidelines, messaging, and content across social media channels, while implementing their strategies
- Be engaged in organizational main events and milestones
- Keep up-to-date on the latest key trends, events and opportunities relevant to communications and engagement
- Contribute to the development and implementation of the ISO communication strategy
- Contribute to the development and implementation of ISO’s style and tone of voice guidelines
Project management
- Manage ISO projects on an ad-hoc basis
- Participate and contribute to ISO projects and initiatives offering a strategic communications, change management and/or design thinking perspective
Other
- Contribute creative ideas in support of our communication objectives
- Share expertise and providing, when necessary, support to colleagues in other ISO/CS teams for any communication-related needs they may have
- Participate in the development and execution of conferences/workshops or other communication-related events as necessary
Qualification and Experience
- University or post-graduate degree in Communications, International Relations or other relevant subject
- Excellent spoken and written command of English (C2 proficiency), other languages are a plus
- Multi-skilled communicator with at least 5 years of experience, including on digital communications, media, public engagement, campaigns, project management
