Under the general authority and direct supervision of the Director, the incumbent will lead all communication functions of the UNESCO Office for the South Asian region, with a strong emphasis on digital communication. He/she will assume the tasks considered traditional of a communications officer and will develop new information channels and formats to make the activities of the Office more visible, accessible, relevant and attractive. As such, the incumbent will ensure a dynamic presence on social networks.
Functions and tasks
The position holder will be responsible for developing public relations networks in the world of media in the countries covered by the Office. He/she will prepare, coordinate and distribute press releases, reports, brochures and other information tools relating to UNESCO activities in the fields of education, science, culture and communication.

DURATION OF CONTRACT
The duration of the contract is 1 year with a probation period of 3 months, with the possibility of extension depending on the availability of funds and the performance of the candidate.
UNESCO’s salaries consist of a basic salary and other benefits which may include if applicable: 30 days annual leave, 24 days certified sick leave etc.
The approximate monthly starting salary for this post is 206,773 INR (including 15% social security with 10% representing Pension and 5% representing Medical).
